You said you were looking for a 1-2yo Subaru, not a 2009 model. Yes the Saab was only made for 2004-2006 because of terrible sales. It's a beautiful car, much much better looking than any of the Impreza models (to me). They are incredible deals if you can find one for sale.

yea, i looked around you can find a 2006 w/ 17k miles on it for $17k around here. good deal no doubt.

well we are 'looking' at the 2009 WRX, but probably aren't buying for another 6-12 months, so hoping to get one partially used maybe. otherwise we may just save up a couple more thousand.

How is a luxury version of the WRX (i.e. Saab) cheaper than the original (cheap) version, the Subaru!? I'm confused!

^because consumers never realized they are just Luxury Impreza's and Saab has a long history of make really fucking crazy internals (read: expensive and hard as hell to work on). So everyone wrote off the 9-2X as another in the long line.

But, in reality, to me, it's like the Acura version of a Honda, or the Lexus of a Toyota. They really are the luxury badge of the Impreza.

Know anything about the 9-3X? I heard there was a version of the new 9-3 that is like the impreza as well I just can't find it in the US

AFAIK the 9-3X is still just a prototype/vision car, and it supposed to be a crossover car/suv type deal.
