This game almost makes me feel better about the SC game...

except that UVA is about to score...

check that, they have scored...

still, looks like a very bad year for the ACC, if Clemson stumbles then I would seriously question whether or not we deserve a BCS bowl bid this season.

IIRC, which conferences get an automatic bcs bid is up for renegotiation soon. in all honesty we deserve to lose our bid, which would be incredibly embarrassing.

Just abort this conference and put it out of it's misery...

UNC tied at HT against 1-AA. Duke tied late in the 2Q against 1-AA. The conferences "best" being DESTROYED in every facet by a mid-tier SEC team. The defending champ being outplayed and beaten by a CUSA team...

Just end it.

meh, it goes in cycles

but clemson's defense isn't anything

besides, who knows if clemson is really the best...just because people who have never seen them play a down ranked them that way preseason?

The big 12 has been terrible for a while, now they are looking like the second strongest conference. The ACC will come back up soon enough.

Well the age old question has finally been answered. If Clemson doesn't pull off a comeback in the second half, Tommy Bowden will be fired this season.

Arkansas will probably be the second worst SEC team this year, Miss State. was a popular upset by a lot of people (including myself), and might be the 4th best team in their DIVISION. No where near the top of the line ACC school being bullied by a middle of the road SEC team

they haven't slammed nc state you stupid fuck.. they have mentioned nc state a couple of time based on our piss-poor performance. anyway...

so far alabama's performance tonight reminds me of the very good teams of the early 90's....

dominating defense
strong running game
solid passing game
no turnovers
few penalties
dominating time of possession

it is a little early to think they will maintain this over the course of the season, but they look to be headed in the right direction after the first game.

btw... fuck clemson and tammy bowden

Ok. So I realize the ACC has stunk it up this weekend. But does anyone think Herbstreit and Musberger's praise of the SEC and their badmouthing of the entire ACC (including teams not currently playing) has been a little excessive? Every chance they get they harp back to how terrible the ACC is in general instead of focusing on Clemson's performance here tonight. And again, I agree with everything they're saying as far as the ACC's performance thus far. But I don't think I've ever seen a conference as a whole take a verbal beating like the ACC has tonight. I'm not suggesting an overarching conspiracy, but I do find it curious that ESPN's commentators are badmouthing the ACC and sucking the SEC off the same week they signed a multi-billion dollar contract with the SEC to broadcast their games.

Were you asleep or dead when the Big East was being KILLED on the regular? Oh yeah, that conference has won 3 times the amount of BCS games the last three years as the ACC has in the BCS' existence...

I don't think VT ever won a BCS game... and WVU and Syracuse both won more conference titles over there respective time in the conference... Miami was dominant though, but not to the degree FSU was over the ACC.

and they weren't in the conference the last three years when WVU (x2) and UL won BCS games... Actually the ACC's only BCS win came over a now ACC team (FSU over Va Tech)...

This conference rots... I think Miami can be pretty good this year though, but they won't come close to being able to run with UF...

Clemson still has the talent to compete for a big time bowl though.
