this is getting about too stupid to watch.
9/21/2008 9:07:56 PM
Why can I not decide if this is a good show or not? It's an interesting premise I guess but there is some bad acting. Or maybe just bad accents.
9/21/2008 9:55:31 PM
Sookie needs to get bit.
9/21/2008 10:07:17 PM
Every time you turn around someone is fucking someone on this show, and it's usually someone who has or is fucking a vampire, haha."Someone needs to get on my johnson."
9/21/2008 11:13:57 PM
verdict after tonight's episode:I'll watch next week again.
9/21/2008 11:32:14 PM
i'm unoriginal
9/21/2008 11:45:48 PM
i think it's been better each week.guess i'm in the minority.
9/22/2008 12:17:46 AM
I'm liking it more and more too. The more they add vampire culture into the story line the more I like it.
9/22/2008 12:23:44 AM
Oh it's improved each week for sure.
9/22/2008 12:26:42 AM
I'm loving this show. I agree that each week has gotten better and better. I'll definitely keep watching.
9/25/2008 5:30:55 PM
i know the show is based on a series of books, but until they change the main character's name to something far less retarded than "sookie" then i might start watching it again. oh and also when they cut out the laughable dialogue like, "never sneak up on a vampire." i can't believe hbo ordered another season of this after the 2nd episode. john from cincinnati was better than this by the 3rd episode, and that show blew ass.
9/25/2008 8:04:51 PM
i really liked this showJFC was terrible all the way through. every single minute of it sucked
9/25/2008 8:22:48 PM
this is the best new show for HBO is a while (i doubt it'll have the impact or popularity of sopranos, sex, entourage or CYE) but this is what the channel really needed. ^^JFC was awful. I watched every episode in hope that something would make sense but the bad acting and horrible pusedo-religious pretention made this show very very very difficult to get through.
9/26/2008 3:47:30 AM
I'm liking Sookie more and more each weekAt first I was like Now I'm like
9/26/2008 7:20:27 AM
It's 'Suki'...Also, what do you guys think she is with her powers? Why do they keep showing the dog?
9/26/2008 8:57:47 AM
nah it's definitely spelled Sookie
9/26/2008 9:54:01 AM
9/26/2008 11:36:53 AM
the owner of the bar was sitting with the dog in either the last or the second episode. the guy who owns the bar doesnt turn into the dogand her name is spelled Sookie via http://www.hbo.com/trueblood/ and the TWC guide
9/26/2008 11:46:08 AM
9/26/2008 11:58:11 AM
yeah, I mean there's clearly a strong connection between the dog and the bar owner. I also thought he turned into the dog until the third episode when it shows them together in the same scene. There's still something going on with him... maybe he's gonna turn into the wolfman at some point.
9/26/2008 12:04:42 PM
i'm not gonna read this thread because i don't want anything spoiled for me.are these on HBO On Demand yet? i want to watch it this weekend.
9/26/2008 12:19:27 PM
^ yeah, all three episodes are up on On-Demand
9/26/2008 12:31:41 PM
sweet
9/26/2008 12:43:51 PM
^^^^Yeah i agree, and obviously there's the more important connection b/t Sookie and the dog. Did anyone else catch the painting in the background of a shot in ep. 2 (i think)? I think it was granny that was talking and there was a painting in the background of a little girl and a dog that was very similar to the dog in the show. After the conversation was over the camera stayed on the photo for a couple seconds. I'm sure that was deliberate.
9/26/2008 1:12:32 PM
Apparently in the book series Sookie's boss can turn into animals. To what extent that's true of the show, I don't know.
9/26/2008 3:19:29 PM
The painting is in Sam's office and we see it after Sam and Sookie are talking.
9/26/2008 3:27:41 PM
9/26/2008 3:58:12 PM
^^ It also makes sense, since in the first episode, the dog is out there when Sam leaves the bar (and leaves Tara in charge)if that's been said, my b.
9/26/2008 11:28:15 PM
Didn't Sam talk to the dog and play with it in the last episode?
9/27/2008 3:22:33 AM
maybe. i thought the dog was a vampire, from what bill said about vampires being able to turn into animals.i'm a bandwagoner.
9/27/2008 3:48:50 AM
He was definitely playing with the dog outside in direct sunlight. So he isn't the dog and the dog isn't a vampire. Unless somehow the dog vampire has figured out a way to get through sunlight.
9/27/2008 12:38:57 PM
Its pretty obvious that her boss is a werewolf guys. Or a dog of some sort.My favorite character in this show, and the most real character, is the gay dude. Aint that some shit.
9/27/2008 12:52:27 PM
GrumpyGOP, considering the series is based on the book, can you try to avoid posting plot elements from the books in this thread. they are spoilers as they relate to the tv show
9/28/2008 11:32:41 PM
^^ ahhhhh shit.i'm an idiot.
9/28/2008 11:37:31 PM
So I guess the boss is the killer then. That would make sense since he would be the only other probable person that would have a key to Dawn's place.Maybe he is just adamantly against "fang bangers" ?
9/29/2008 12:05:43 AM
He might be trying to convince Sookie to avoid vampires by killing others who have been close to them.
9/29/2008 6:05:51 AM
It'll be really interesting to see how closely they follow the books. So far they're doing pretty well. Except for the vamp blood... in the book jason doesn't buy vamp blood or take it.
9/29/2008 8:27:15 PM
yeah I have the series of books and am enjoying the series it more of a focus on other immensely. There is a bit of an increase on focus of other characters as the books are written from Sookie's perspective. For the most part they are following the main plot elements of the first book quite closely and I am fairly certian....SPOILERThe next episode will make me sad. Not sure if that is a spoiler or not, but wanted to be sure...
9/30/2008 12:51:01 AM
Ok, how about we don't post book spoiler shit. Start a True Blood book discussion if you want but try to keep that shit outta here.
9/30/2008 11:59:14 AM
Can anyone explain how you are killed by a vampire? Several of the women who had sex with vampires were also bit but didn't die or turn into vampires. How does it work?
9/30/2008 9:52:42 PM
I kind of get the idea that the vampire that bites them can choose whether or not to make them vampires.
9/30/2008 10:00:19 PM
i'm in the 2nd one now, but so far, I think the best think about the show is the opening credits
10/1/2008 9:17:18 PM
the opening credits really are awesome
10/1/2008 10:36:53 PM
okbttt. This show is legitimately good now, enough with the "good enough so that I'll watch next week" garbage.talking to myself here.
10/6/2008 12:51:26 AM
I really enjoyed this one too. The whole civil war premise was pretty cool. I'm still torn about the bar owner and what he is exactly. I'm also trying to figure out how people actually become vampires?************SPOILER:*******************Do you have to get bitten and then drink the blood of that Vampire?
10/6/2008 1:24:18 AM
maybe. Or maybe it's just drink an ass-ton at the same time?like sookie drank a lot from his wrist, but he drank even more from the bitch's neck.I like the whole brother storyline, he's far more interesting now than it looked like he was going to be after the first couple, he was looking like a flat stock character for a little bit.[Edited on October 6, 2008 at 1:31 AM. 10/6/2008 1:30:47 AM
^ well sookie wasen't bitten, that's what logic I was using.
10/6/2008 1:34:51 AM
I know, I was just using it as one piece of my alternate brainstorming equation that would make sense though I guess, taking someone's blood and replacing it with vampire blood. but drinking != replacing. fuckit, maybe it will explain someday.it was so simple in Lost Boys [Edited on October 6, 2008 at 1:38 AM. 10/6/2008 1:36:28 AM
so sam is probably definitely the grandma stackhouse's killer, and has been confirmed as different from regular humans.anyone who doesn't know the outcome (from the novels) care to speculate?
