Not for Favre it's not. No O-line + no receivers.
7/11/2008 6:10:45 PM
He'd be better off in Green Bay reallyChicago wouldnt be terrible, but they really dont have as good of potential as they did a few years ago.Minnesota wouldnt be a bad spot at all
7/11/2008 11:04:14 PM
J E T S, Jets Jets Jets? With a revamped offensive line, plus Coles and Cotchery, who knows?
7/11/2008 11:55:08 PM
they can call him a drama queen all they want, this was the happiest thing i've heard all week.
7/12/2008 12:08:43 AM
He changed his mind like 6 times already this offseason. Favre was gonna un-retire at the end of march, but changed his mind. I don't blame the Packers one bit if they want to move on / not release him.The problem for the Packers will come if Rodgers falters, though.
7/12/2008 12:31:21 AM
Miami is the perfect situation??? hahaha
7/12/2008 12:36:47 AM
well i USED to like brett favre
7/12/2008 2:46:36 AM
miami would be a fucking stupid move. and people are indecisive. brett favre is no different. i'm sure he had a lot to think about (like what he wants to do vs what's best for him to do and trying to figure out exactly what both of those are). i still think he's awesome and would love to see him back this season. i just hope to god it's not for the dolphins, hahaoh, and i'm not saying i blame the packers for not jumping at the chance to take him back. they've been building/re-building the team since he left - it would be unfair just say "suuuure, you're brett favre" and let him jump right back in there...[Edited on July 12, 2008 at 3:34 AM. Well the thing is with this situation is that the Packers hold all the cards here. If I am part of the front office for the Pack there is no fucking way I release Brett Favre just to see him sign on with a team in my own division like the Vikings or Bears. Unless the Packers are just plain stupid the place Favre should be playing is in Green Bay, or he possibly could be traded, but there is no way the Packers should release him. I honestly think 50% of the state of Wisconsin's collective minds would explode if their golden boy Brett Favre was to come back and play in the NFL for another team.
7/12/2008 4:50:22 AM
Brett Favre sucks! What a faggot! Make up your mind, Mr. Interception!Oh, he's coming back? I hope he plays for my team!
7/12/2008 10:02:24 AM
I'm all four Brett coming back...I believe a person has a right to change their mind, especially if it is their career and they are fucking good at it. But I believe that person has a duty to his company/team/business to ensure the best for all parties. Will suck to see Brett end his career with another team. I don't want to see him in Minn b/c I believe T. Jackson has a chance to be a quality QB and they should have a decent team this year. ALthough Brett and Adrian P could be interesting backfield. III

7/12/2008 10:58:25 AM
There's no way that the Packers would release him so he could sign with the Vikings or Bears.
7/12/2008 11:07:00 AM
For the record, I would have absolutely no problem with Favre playing for the Jets.Otherwise, I hope the Packers hold into him as Aaron Rodgers insurance.
7/12/2008 12:02:23 PM
Stein, I like the way you think.
7/12/2008 12:17:41 PM
Breaking News:Packers will not release Favre and he is welcome to rejoin team as backup QB, per APlololol
7/12/2008 1:42:57 PM
This is the greatest drama of the year right now. Come back as a back-up? ahahah. I wonder what quarter Favre would take over for Rogers in that first game?
7/12/2008 1:59:47 PM
yay seriously....Talk about pressure now.Rogers had to worry about filling farve's shoes, now he has to worry about keeping his position over him.If they loose their first game the fans will be calling for farve on the field immediately
7/12/2008 2:08:57 PM
7/12/2008 2:18:20 PM
FavreI think you're greatly underestimating Packers fans. For the past 3 months everyone's been preparing themselves for growing pains under Rodgers. I get the feeling that if there's any call for Rodgers' head, it's going to be led by the media, not the fans.
7/12/2008 2:19:04 PM
WORST
7/12/2008 2:19:21 PM
Clearly they aren't serious about him being a backup. They are just playing their cards so they can force a trade. They don't want to release him for nothing just to see him screw them over by playing for a team like Minnesota.
7/12/2008 3:06:52 PM
Favre makes Dean Smith's national titles per number of tournament appearances look respectable]
7/12/2008 3:26:25 PM
Brett Favre: head coach, recruiter, general manager, team architect.Again, great call, TreeTwista.
7/12/2008 3:27:37 PM
like it or not, we judge great athletes on their championshipsie the reason Montana and Brady, among others, will always go down as better QBs than Marinobesides its funny that you mention GM, coach, etcFavre singlehandledly forces them to change what they're about to do"Ok we're gonna bring along Rodgers as our QB...nope scratch those 2 months of training, Brett has decided he is unretiring yet again"]
7/12/2008 3:28:49 PM
I agree, but ranking quarterbacks (or pitchers, or centers, or whatever) is such a subjective thing. Brett Favre is one of the greatest quarterbacks of all-time, anyone denying that is just being a TreeTwista. Whether he's #1 or #10 doesn't matter much to me; he won a ring, a couple MVP trophies, brought the Packers back to life, and made the majority of my life as a pro football fan pretty damn fun.--
7/12/2008 3:31:00 PM
chances favre goes to the vikings?sure would be a kick in the balls to green bay if he went there or chicago.

COME TO CAROLINA!!!!
7/12/2008 4:17:50 PM
7/12/2008 4:28:08 PM
If I were a Panthers fan, I'd much rather hear about Brett Favre instead of how the Panthers have yet again failed to meet expectations. But that's just me!
7/12/2008 5:51:25 PM
when you go to a couple NFC title games RECENTLY i guess some sports media tend to predict good things about you...lets see how well you guys wouldve done last year with Testaverde and Carr
7/12/2008 6:03:27 PM
Im with TreeTwista....I am not for Favre in Carolina. It's not worth the trouble/controversy etc... III
7/12/2008 6:21:25 PM
Yeah, fuck having his ass here. What do you guys(packers fans) want from Brett this year? I don't think anyone has really said what their ideal Favre scenario would be.
7/12/2008 6:27:13 PM
If Delhomme cant go then Favre would be a great addition. The reports on Jake sound good right now though. He was awful two years ago but he looked like he was about to have a huge bounceback season last year.Favre isn't half the player he used to be, but he is still a viable borderline pro bowl QB and after witnessing the atrocity of David Carr I'd take anyone who resembles a starting QB.
7/12/2008 6:27:25 PM
I'd like Favre to stay retired.I mean, I'd love to see him play for the Packers and all, but Rodgers is the future and I don't want to lose him.

I think Favre is a douche bag but i do think he's earned the right to start.Aaron fucking Rodgers is a nobody ass clown that might be out of the league had he been starting the last few years. If he's actually a good QB congratulations but remember Matt Hasslebeck was a stud backup for a number of years before he fell on his face in Seattle (prior to becoming a good QB). Matt Schaub was a golden god before he became a marginal starter in Houston (still think he'll turn it around). Aaron Rodgers has never done ANYTHING.Being a backup QB is like getting paid to jerk off. If he pouts just trade him for mismatched socks, you can get a new QB later. You don't fuck with a good team by introducing a QB who may or may not be able to complete a "forward pass".They were 2 wins away from a Super Bowl. The guy had a good year last year. Why would they not want him back as a starter and why would he not wanna play QB for the Packers?I don't get it. Fuck the Packers and Favre. I hope he rots on the inactive list and the Packers go 5-11.[Edited on July 14, 2008 at 12:21 AM. Reason : a][Edited on July 14, 2008 at 12:22 AM. Reason : a]

Heard on the DP show this morning that he pulled the same shit back in March pre-draft and they were set to announce he was coming back 100%... then he changed his mind.
7/14/2008 5:39:23 PM
Favre's managed to deliberately pull the strings on this whole thing for the last few years while still retaining this public image of innocence but I think some of the PR facade is starting to fall and some people are starting to see that bit of selfish, attention whoring nature behind the good ole boy image he's managed to cultivate for so long, he's TO with a better PR rep

Favre represents the old type of football and him retiring is the end of an era. I'd much rather have the NFL with him in it than with him out of it.
