8/16/2008 10:24:22 PM
showboating is just fine when you can back it updude ran a world record without going all outhe can do whatever he pleases
8/16/2008 10:39:05 PM
I'm going to get really tired of hearing about what this guy could have done.We only know what he did. Maybe he could have gone faster, but he has yet to prove it.[Edited on August 16, 2008 at 10:43 PM. Reason : Not that I don't respect his world record, it was pretty amazing]
8/16/2008 10:42:59 PM
how to we know he wasn't going as fast as he could in the final?? maybe he just doesn't show the strain like some do but is still going as fast as he can - he looked like to me in the final he was going pretty hardthere must be a reason that he isn't even considered to have the most potential of anyone in his country (asafa powell is talked about as having more potential). it was amazing to watch, but maybe he just has a different running style and that was as fast or at least very close to as fast as he could go

NBC got these videos on lockdown
8/16/2008 11:05:34 PM

too bad he seems like a huge ass dickhead. oh well.
8/16/2008 11:28:13 PM
haha, motherfucker started pointing before he finished
8/16/2008 11:29:34 PM
my namesake
8/16/2008 11:30:15 PM
Wow that looked insanely easy, I used to think michael johnson looked like he was runnign with ease but compared to this guy there is no comparison really. He may seem like a dick but he can damn sure back it up.
8/16/2008 11:44:54 PM
what the hell was up with that chinese dude hugging him
8/16/2008 11:46:55 PM
Amazing and entertaining.Faggots thought michael johnson was a dick, too, because he ran with gold shoes. Mediocre people will always try to find reasons to talk shit about people with exceptional abilities.[Edited on August 16, 2008 at 11:48 PM. Reason : .]

I really don't think he eased up as much as it may appear or they made it seem. The rest of the field didn't ease up, and he didn't lose any ground over the last 10 meters, in fact he increased his lead.
8/16/2008 11:51:27 PM
what makes him a dick, the fact that he was excited as shit for winning his jamaicas first ever gold medal? No i know what it was, he looked arrogant as hell running over to his mom after the race, what a prick.
8/16/2008 11:53:14 PM
^its kind of an unspoken rule or courtesy in track that u dont celebrate untill u cross the finish line, that way u dont seem cocky and dont show up the other runners
8/17/2008 1:45:34 AM
^^and how do you figure that that was jamaicas first gold medal. They had 7 gold medals coming into these games
8/17/2008 1:59:34 AM
That was their first gold in the 100 meters

by the way i dont think its that he's got a higher gear than everyone else, its that he's taller and his leg speed is probably average, but each step he takes he goes further than the othersits like walking around on campus, if someone taller than you is walking at the same pace they'll get ahead
8/17/2008 10:31:14 PM
8/17/2008 10:41:24 PM
^pretty much agreed, except i dont care if someone celebrates if its just out of being excited to win, but what this guy does seems like its motivated by putting the other guys downhe's a world champion, he should have more class than that if he wants respectbut that can be expected since its an individual sport but still it should be frowned on
8/17/2008 11:11:43 PM
While I agree with most of whats being said, you gotta remember this dude is only 21 year old. He's just a kid who has been running the 100m for less than a year. If I would have beat the shit out of my biggest rival and everyone else like he did in less than one year, I would be doing the same thingdude is nasty
8/17/2008 11:50:02 PM
i want him or anybody else to slaughter the 200 m world record set by Michael Johnson 10+ years ago.btw, check out this Bahraini chick in the 200 m. she is bloody fast.http://www.nbcolympics.com/trackandfield/news/newsid=235541.html
8/19/2008 6:44:18 PM
what's so special about her? she's wearing a full body suit? who gives a shit

Breaks 12 year old WR set by Michael Johnson (and Michael had broken a ~20 year old record!). So seems like the 100 m WR gets broken every 2-3 years, but the 200 m takes 10-20 years!Anyway, his time was 19.30 sec, and the previous record was 19.32 sec.He was 5th off the blocks, but still won by the BIGGEST EVER margin in the 200 m Olynpic sprint: 0.66 seconds! That translates to.... 7 meters!!! (ahead of the 2nd place winner)This is what he said when he won:
