i live in a privately owned apartment that is managed by Rhyne Management. My experience with this management company have been very positive. I live between hillsborough and wade near the college. there is much less crazy college shennanigans going on between everett street and wade avenue, and the neighborhood is nice, with mostly families and I rarely see sketchy people around. Plus you can walk to campus in 10 minutes and avoid driving your car to hit and run paradise.

if you don't want roommates you could either get more student loans to pay for rent, or you could trade in your precious '05 benz for something a little more economical. that should give you a little more money to work with.what if i meant to type "econoical"[Edited on June 24, 2008 at 12:24 PM. the original poster is a retard, who apparently has zero idea how the world works.its nice that his daddy bought him a benz. maybe his daddy will rent him a house in some upscale Cary development too.
6/24/2008 12:15:33 PM
2005 benz and $500 rent does not compute
6/24/2008 1:34:07 PM
just out of curiosity, how old are you?you seem to have this crazy misperception that all "young" people are dumbasses...
6/24/2008 1:47:46 PM

rent in NC can be cheap, if you're not in raleigh, cary, morrisville, durham, rtp, chapel hill, wilmington, or charlotte.
6/24/2008 2:05:32 PM
you could try renting a trailer... i hear you can rent a two bedroom/one bath for $250 a month...

http://www.huntingtonathleticclub.com/2/Apartments-for-Rent-in-Morrisville-North-Carolina/This was about the cheapest apartment I could find in Morrisville when I lived there in 2002. It's about 8-10 miles from GSK, but it's also much closer to NCSU (via Highway 54) than most people would ever know. The neighborhood was not ghetto at all...It's actually across from Preston which is one of the most expensive neighborhoods in Cary. There was almost no crime when I lived there. The area has grown up some since then though. You can call it "bland" but it is pretty nice to be able to hop on your bike at midnight and ride around with no fear whatsoever.

you're still taking this guy seriously, i see...

GreetingsI am Brad, I will be moving to NC from California to work at GSK and continue my education at NCSU. I need to find an apartment near the company in RTP area from August to December. I searched online for apartments near the company and most of the apartments have bad ratings on apartment rating website. Can some of you guys from Raleigh area suggest any decent priced apartment which are not known for screwing over people. I have my own furniture so unfurnished apt is perfectly fine if it makes it any cheaper. Apt needs to be away from any ghetto area. I need it approximately 1 to 7 miles away from the company. Address for the company is:3030 Cornwallis Rd. RTP Nc 27709ModsI apologize if this is not the correct section for this type of thread.

I am working GSK now. I live about 6 miles from the Cornwallis Campus at Avera Place. Some of the other apartments I looked at in the area that were decent were:IndigoNew HavenBridges at WindriverAvera PlaceThe Indigo and New Haven are through the same company and approximately the same rate which was fairly cheap for the area. Unless you have a roommate, you will be lucky to get something in your price range in the RTP/Briar Creek area.If you have any specific questions about the area or GSK, just send me a pm.
6/24/2008 10:38:22 PM
Are you planning to stay beyond December? Because if not you will pay more for a lease that is less than 1 year, probably at least $100 more a month. Mention that you work for GSK when you talk to the apt complexes, they might offer a discount on rent or up front fees. The $600 range is going to be hard to beat in Morrisville/Cary/RTP. 1 bedrooms cost you a lot. Look in to subleasing from someone or renting a room in someone's house.
6/24/2008 10:49:57 PM
man you all continue to feed this"I want to pay no more than 400 after utils to live next to RTP, also I need a garage for my 2005 SL benz. 400 is the max, would prefer 300 or so, come on people."[Edited on June 24, 2008 at 10:55 PM. Reason : .]

6/25/2008 12:32:47 AM
wow this is too much fun...Having lived in a lot of locations... no way in hell that your going to find a 1 BR where you can park your '05 benz on the curb for what you want to pay...where the HELL can you pay <$600/month after utilities and park your benz on the curb without being concerned for it...RTP is a CRAPTON cheaper but it's not the middle of nowhere... Move to the Midwest particularly chicago urbana if you want to find rentals at that price[Edited on June 25, 2008 at 12:37 AM. Reason : no cursing... applying for grants]
6/25/2008 12:36:10 AM
My sincere advice:Trade in the car for something with much better gas mileage. You're not going to be living anywhere near RTP for those prices. I lived near RTP for 15 years and it's only getting more and more expensive. Especially with gas prices everyone wants to live closer to RTP now.So trade in the car, expand your search out, and you'll be able to find something in your price range maybe. I still think you'll be needing to find a roommate.

Duke Villa AptsAny of you know what they are like crime wise and other things a person would need to watch out for at these apts? I looked at the reviews on apartment rating site and most raters were females so I can't really take their opinion of the place. I am not a sexist but lets be honest some girls get scared of roaches and say apt is bad.I am not a troll so please do try to help me out with the apts. Thanks.
