No, blackmail her and tell her if you don't get the money, you'll call the sheriff (Assuming this isn't in Raleigh).

She won't want the cops to come as much as you want your money. Remember, people like this don't just get the dogs taken, they may be up to criminal negligence as well.

After another dog fight on Sunday, I told her I was done, that I didn't care what she thought, and that I couldn't take it anymore. She stated that she understood considering the amount of stress but she could find other people to do it for cheaper since it was such a simple job. I fed the dogs Monday morning and she came back that evening and called me and told me that she would call me when she got the money that afternoon. She hasn't called me since, but I called and left her a voice mail saying I need my money. I gave animal control a call Sunday about the pit that they were supposed to come pick up Friday or Saturday and they never did, and they told me that they would get to it when they could, that they get so many complaints about her dogs but they never find anything wrong out there so most of the time they don't act on the situation (which I find to be complete bullshit). So I'm going to make an anonymous call sometime this week and see what they do, since they obviously didn't do anything before, I doubt they will this time. I just hope she pays me what she owes me.

^^^ a haircut? damn, whats up with my hair? and the reason why i dont have a "real" job is because i take care of my grandparents who are disabled and my husband stays sick and we're in and out of surgeries and hospitals weekly it seems - i dont have time for a "real" job until my life settles down and i dont have nervous breakdowns, until then, i'll stick with part time jobs until i finish my degree and my grandparents are no longer here

well as I mentioned, when we first agreed to it, it was 2 trips a day and about 30 minutes each time to feed the dogs, I figured it would be fine so I'd spend $6 in gas (which as I said before, this was agreed upon when gas was $3 a gallon) and do about an hours worth of work, fine no problem - but then after the first time I kept them, I knew it wasnt going to work, so I asked for a price increase, she said she couldnt afford it, but I told her I would still clean because I'd make $50 or so a day for just cleaning (which of course isn't the best, but its better than nothing) - then she had an emergency and had to go out of town for a week to fire someone, so i agreed to keep the dogs but it turned into this huge fiasco this week with fight after fight and other issues that were never brought up before that i had to take more time to do, so this week was the first time that i had to do all this shit - beforehand, i'd spend about an hour each trip, but then it turned into 2-3 and i couldnt make it - yes, im a fool, never said i wasnt, but i figured i would make a little out of it from having to clean, but after i sat back and looked at the shit i was doing, i didnt think i could make it anymore - what worried me was the fact that i figured she wouldnt pay me if i quit - and it seems like shes pushing it off now

Jesus you said you quit before getting your money, you won't see a dime now (you pretty much have no recourse). You should have stayed a bit longer because she would have assumed you would continue to work, the second she payed you, walk the fuck out.

It's sad she will find another person to basically run her kenel for 4-5 hours at the rate of 25 dollars a day.

Yeah, don't expect to get any money from her. I worked for someone that sounds really similar to this, and unless you have a written agreement you're fucked. I personally would just let it go and consider it a lesson learned. It wouldn't even be worth bringing to small claims court.

If you don't see your money (and I suspect you will not) bring down the fury of hell on her "operation". County Animal Control, PETA, whoever you can get in touch with--the dogs deserve a better situation (or in the case of some of the old ones, probably need to be put down) and she doesn't deserve to be able to continue playing people for fools like this.

I honestly can't see PETA doing anything about this situation. Legally they can't do shit and they're too busy pissing and moaning about chickens and lab rats these days anyway.

What you can do is coordinate a plan to have a bunch of your pals call Animal Control on her. Pace them out one call every other day or something and Animal Control will go out there because they're tired of the phone calls.

Or instead of PETA, you'd have better luck calling a legit animal rescue that specializes in the type of dogs she has and having them do all the legwork for you.

If you need a super flexible job, be a medical transcriptionist.

If you can type 55+ WPM accurately, you will make a KILLING. I used to do consulting work for a couple of companies. All the transcriptionists worked from home, anywhere from 3-9 hours a day (you work however much or little you want), and on average they cleared about 25 bucks an hour. Some of the girls who could type 90+WPM were making 55-70 bucks an hour

pretty crazy, and most of the companies are really cool to work for (in my experience)
