GO BLUE!

I had posted some analysis about the new schedule and the new stadium upgrades in previous threads, but I think I'll hold off on it for this one until I'm sure the thread won't get deleted again :-p

I'd like to go to the MSU/UW games, possibly the Toledo game too.

So when does Rich Rod have the breakout season? 2, maybe even 3 years from now?

hmm, well per the future schedules page on UM's athletics site, Michigan won't be playing Northwestern or Minnesota in '09 & '10, which will make their conference schedule a bit more difficult:

http://www.mgoblue.com/football/article.aspx?id=40930

as far as this year goes I predict 8-4 optimistically, but 7-5 seems more likely.

2008 Schedule
8/30 - Utah - W
9/6 - Miami (Ohio) - W
9/13 - at Notre Dame - W
9/27 - Wisconsin - L
10/4 - Illinois - W
10/11 - Toledo - W
10/18 - at Penn State - L
10/25 - Michigan State - W
11/1 - at Purdue - L
11/8 - at Minnesota - W
11/15 - Northwestern - W
11/22 - at Ohio State - L

I wouldn't be surprised by a loss at ND or at home to MSU. The Illini
might be a stumbling spot too, but they did lose Mendenhall.

i'll hope for the best, and we'll see what happens! My only wish is that UM can keep their bowl streak alive.... GO BLUE

9/27 - Wisconsin - L
10/4 - Illinois - W
10/11 - Toledo - W
10/18 - at Penn State - L
10/25 - Michigan State - L (unfortunately I think Sparty wins this one)
11/1 - at Purdue - L
11/8 - at Minnesota - W
11/15 - Northwestern - W
11/22 - at Ohio State - L

7-5 and some crappy bowl. I think the team improves enough over the course of the season that they give tOSU a real scare before they head on to either the Rose Bowl or the National Championship game.

I remember watching that game against Penn State, and saying that they will probably win b/c Lloyd Carr fought for time to be put back on the clock.

Whoo the Biakabutuka game!

not this year with threet at qb... sorry but we need feagin at qb to pose a serious spread threat... threet is slow and feagin is black, enough said... detroit free press is heavily pushing that feagin will NOT start this year as a true freshman...

once, he gets in the lineup and can work that offense like pat white, then the breakout season begins...

the pictures of biakabatuka are great but to beat the columbus team this year its going to be all about leadership on defense and special teams... basically to beat every team this year defense will have to be great

pass attack will not exist, even if it COULD (cause spread offense isnt heavy with it) but we do have a LOT of rbs and ALL different types... brandon minor is an all around "find the hole" kinda guy... grady is a bowling ball, but WITH speed.... IF we play mcguffie he is lights out speed for a white guy, 4.3 second forty... and then wing back/quarterback MAYBE carlos brown (he's said by richrod to be like a percy harvin)

there are still a LOT of "IFs"
i cannot wait for the utah game to see what all he brings together, cause michigan still has so much talent, except at quarterback...

A shot similar to this used to be my background for the longest time, but the stadium was completely empty and the picture was a higher resolution.

When will Rich Rod make the switch to the 3-3-5 defense? I haven't heard if it'll be immediate or if he'll have to wait until he recruits enough of the right players to make the switch.

richrod already grabbing his dual threat quarterbacks for 2 seasons from now

i'm worried he's going to over recruit, or do it too quickly because of course guys won't hesitate to play at michigan

One day, maybe in 5-10 years once Tressel retires Michigan will be in the position OSU is in, good enough to win the "Big" Te(leve)n and get trounced by an SEC team in a title game they don't deserve to be in because they play a shitty schedule. Thankfully, for now, they'll just be good enough to finish 2nd in a massively overrated Big Ten and get spanked in front of the nation in the Rose Bowl by a Big XII or PAC-10 team.

Fuck Michigan.

I remember jumping up and down a few times in my living room while watching that Outback Bowl game. I was so ecstatic that Lloyd Carr would go out on a winning not and do so by beating an SEC team.

Really? I've got somewhere around a dozen relatives who went to or go to Michigan. I grew up in Detroit, watching Michigan. My dad very nearly went to Michigan before getting a scholarship elsewhere. Michigan vs. Ohio State has been a holy event in my family's household every year as far as I can remember. If we hadn't moved to NC nine years ago, I would probably have gone to Michigan instead of NC State.

So, you're wrong. At least one person has affiliation. And I assure you PackGuitar's credentials are identical to mine.

Thanks for playing though.

Tennessee spanked the shit out of that groundhog ass

that game was like watching an NFL offense against a college team, and I dont mean that as in Tennessee was SOOOO much better, just that one game everything clicked like never before, it really did look like a pro offense with Witten, Stallworth, Washington catching shit all over the place, lots of deep routes

^^haha, ok... my grandparents, both of my parents, a great aunt, and three other aunts and uncles went to school there. I'm basically the family reject by going to State . Still doesn't change the fact that I was born in Detroit (same hospital as wyloch, wut wut) and grew up watching every game with my dad on Saturdays. My affiliation only changed when I came to State... My alma mater will always be #1 for me, but UM will always have a special spot in my heart.

^ yea, that game sucked
