if you're an unpopular leader being closely associated with another unpopular leader isn't necessarily positive nor does it resolve the alienation this country has with the citizens of europe. so if you're point is that some leaders in europe are closer in ties with GWB than their previous counterparts, then fine. but a connection to that statement and any positive connotation therein would be a egregious

NEWFLASH: As a U.S, president, if you go around trying to please all the citizens in other countries, you will fail. What about principles? What about when a U.S. administration doesn't want to act unilaterally--but its supposed allies are unwilling to act?
