^Tcheng...interestingly enough, the 100-150 range Honda outboards do use a D16 adapted to a lower drive unit.arcgreek...yep, Deaton was the broker. She's now sitting at Ray's Creekside Marina on Smith Creek on the other side of Oriental.

I remember seeing it at whittaker creek. It looked to be a very clean boat.[Edited on June 11, 2008 at 3:12 PM. Reason : ]

So block, heads etc. is the same as a normal sbf just has single pass cooling system & the exhaust manifolds are water cooled?

^x5... thanks^x4- there are some unique parts- like the water manifolds/risers.... timing cover is different due to having a boss for the raw water pump, but basically its all normal beyond that- luckily the shamrock is standard (automotive) rotation so i built that from a roller block 302 out of a 87 crown vic. Did re-use the cam from the boat motor since it had very little wear, pulled the ignition from a ~80 model f150 in the knoxville pull-a-partfuel consumption has been suprisingly nice... most people on the shamrock forums seem to be using ~6-8gal/hr at a good cruise speed, running b/w 2500-3500 rpm most of the time- i have only had it out about 8 hrs so far, still breaking in the motor- but i know it took $38 to fill it back up after the first 4 hoursfor anyone dealing with straight inboard or I/O i strongly recommend http://www.ebasicpower.com for parts, great prices and fast delivery

After you break in the motor, you are going to turn that thing into an offshore fishing battle wagon right?
