as the air pressure increases, does he slow down naturally? I imagine opening a chute at 1000mph would rip his body apart. He probably has a series of chutes to slow him down.

That's disappointing. How in the heck did the balloon become detatched before he even took off? Seems like they are not being very careful.

You would slow down when you got into normal air to normal speeds.

He'll slow down naturally, just by air resistance on his body until he reaches normal parachuting speeds at normal parachuting altitudes.
