Wondering what the current consensus was on good pannier / carrying system? I've got a Gary Fisher I'm going to start using for work commuting and need a way to transport a suit and other basics to and from work every day.

I second the idea of keeping plenty of clothes at the office, so you don't have to bring new stuff in every day. Keep a washcloth there too to wipe down a bit when you change, and it shouldn't be a problem.

I think this is National Bike to Work Week (May 10-14)Depending on where I'm going that day:I have Cannondale day panniers and a tourist style rack if I need to carry groceries or an odd shape like a potted plant on my Surly. It started to get hot here so I've been carryingan extra T-shirt to work. A front handlebar bag on my cruiser for bar-hoppingand a Chrome bag for general errands and commuting to school. If all 3 options fail, we bust out the bike trailer for big items like dog food and chicken feed.[Edited on May 10, 2010 at 8:31 AM. Reason : g]

too bad its this week, still too far away from work to bike. next week however, I will be living only 6 miles away and am looking at biking to work.

Been biking to work for most days during the last 3 weeks. I have a pretty sweet setup only being about 2 miles away. I even bike back to the house for lunch.

What is the thought on Marin Bikes? I'm looking at getting a Muirwoods and setting it up for the 5 mile bike to and from work.

man, I'm in Boulder (CO) for grad school and the whole sweat on the ride in/shower when you get in thing just doesn't apply out here. It's still chilly, like 50 degrees and ~25% humidity in the mornings all summer.GG for anyone that bikes in to work this week in NC!

Have things improved in Raleigh over the past few years as far as sharing the road goes. Back in 2004 I had tried biking to work Raleigh to RTP for a bit but found it too dangerous

Maybe with the downtown growth plan it won't suck so bad. I used to bike to school and work when I was a student there, but found biking anywhere for commuting to be too dangerous.
