^^^very good question. I suppose the best answer would be that you're actually aware of the fact that you're advertising for a favorite sports team or band. Showing your support for something you like. The clothing with the store name on it is a lot different in my opinion. Who cares if your shirt says American Eagle? "Hell yeah man! You like American Eagle too? Right on!" It's just shameless advertising. Very smart from a company standpoint though.[Edited on May 19, 2008 at 9:35 AM. Reason : .]

pretty much. I buy band shirts to support the band. I purposely by shirts that do not have brand names emblazoned on them because when I buy clothing I'm buying it because I like the shirt or the jeans, not because of the brand it is. I really couldn't care less what brand of clothing I wear. Heck, half the time I cant even remember which brand of shirt I am wearing anyways.

for some reason I like the printed thermal shirts but don't like the printed t-shirts. and i like the ones that don't have the brand name on them. i'd probably buy this...

i understand the point mrlebowski, and you are right to a degree. some people really do like supporting a brand though. i know a girl who loves hollister because she likes the style and the clothing fits her perfectly so half her wardrobe is from there. why wouldnt she want to support them. sure its not quite the same as a baseball team or band, but the idea is similar.i used to purposely NOT buy things with logos on it, but ive found that i was being just as big of a douche trying to avoid those clothes as i would be if i were buying them JUST for the name.now that ive given the stores a chance, i find that the clothing fits me very well (im a relatively small guy so a lot of "smalls" dont fit as well as they should) and i like the look. if people want to characterize me as cooler or lamer based on that decision, so be it.[Edited on May 19, 2008 at 8:09 PM. Reason : and the stuff is a lot easier to find / try on than some of these other brands u guys mention]

I got no problem with wearing a shirt because you like it, but you're telling me you can't find one you like that doesn't say American Eagle all across the front? I don't want people knowing where I got my clothes. I have this plain grey v-neck sweater that fits me awesome that I got from Target. It has no markings on it, so as far as everyone else is concerned, I could've gotten it at banana republic. If you REALLY want people to know that you're an American Eagle fanatic, then by all means, by a shirt that has their brand name written all over it. I would think that they'd have some more subtle options though. That said, there are always exceptions and brands that transcend what we're talking about here

Express (Men), and NV (pricey though) http://www.nvclothes.comPS - Please don't come to Buckhead/Lucky B's/Stool Pigeons/etc. and call it a "club". It's a bar. Clubs include: Ess, Office, Haven, Mosquito.I haven't looked at your profile - but if you're trying to figure out what to wear out, I'd say a button down or a t with a blazer at a "club" or a t or a polo at a "bar"... button down at the most but you can leave the blazer at home.[Edited on May 20, 2008 at 9:35 AM. Reason : bar vs. club]

that's another one. my buddy wears a blazer pretty much every time he goes out. I got no problem with the blazer itself and it's a pretty classic look, but people are just really killling that whole look. Oh, and while we're on it, can we please just let the faux-hawk die?
