imo i think an fbody (specifically the more recent trans am's) would pull more punani than a mustang, stock for stock
5/5/2008 8:30:06 AM
there is a Dale Jarrett edition? Don't get me wrong, DJ is a good guy, but does he really deserve his own Mustang? And, ironically, the P-51A had a completely anemic Allison power plant. It wasn't until the P-51B got the RR Merlin that it's potential as a fighter became apparent. Roush could have done better. Besides, its ugly.

^^^^nah, it's actually 3.48 liter gallons of milk!!11^^^haha. check out this guy running 13's and talking shit. [Edited on May 11, 2008 at 11:57 AM. Reason : psi]

^13's is what stock evo's run.8's is what Buschar's Evo runs.
5/5/2008 9:43:05 AM
yeah, i know... just funny to hear that guy saying fords suck when he's running 13's. ricers. that one also isn't stock.ams is well into the 8's also. who's got the record now? last i saw ams had the et and buschur had the mph...[Edited on May 5, 2008 at 10:07 AM. Reason : .]

^^personally I hate drag racing. Its for rednecks and ricers with civics running 16's.the last good thing to come out of FORD was the assembly line. [Edited on May 5, 2008 at 10:44 AM. Reason : .]
5/5/2008 10:43:43 AM
have you ever driven anything reasonably fast? it doesn't really compare. i'd hate it/be bored also in a stockish rsx/sti/evo.
5/5/2008 10:56:48 AM
^yes, i've actually driven an STi and Evo reasonably fast around a track. I'm sorry that you rednecks don't have the attention span to watching anything that doesn't involve going in a straight line or turning left
5/5/2008 12:40:05 PM
you want to call me a redneck, when you're the one being ignorant? lawl. the subject was drag racing, i never said anything about road courses. i'm sorry that all the gel in your hair has seeped into your head and blocked logical thought. in case i need to make it clearer, if you've never DRAG RACED anything faster than that your opinion is unfounded and useless. that'd be like taking a lifted 4wd truck to a hpde and writing it off as stupid/boring in general. why you brought up circle track racing, i have no idea but it takes a longer attention span to watch a car go fast/turn left for hours than anything else. maybe you meant mental capacity? i personally lack the desire to watch any kind of sanctioned racing on tv, so it's whatever.

^^i agree.... i'll watch f1 but in super fast i recorded this earlier and am just looking for pit strategies and highlights mode...[Edited on May 5, 2008 at 2:12 PM. Reason : carrots are yummy]

I don't even know what you two are arguing about but since you thought that one evo picture had a quad turbo setup when it was just a nice equal length big turbo manifold i doubt your argument holds any weight or actual automotive knowledge.]

^ you forgot former.... and you drive a Mitsubishi.... so i wouldn't bring quality to the table there either.I drive a jeep... i too cannot bring quality to the table... [Edited on May 5, 2008 at 3:10 PM. Reason : .]
5/5/2008 3:09:58 PM
^i wasn't bringing quality to the table. I was bringing all-around performance. The only thing slowbacks mustang was good for is pruning trees.and the other thing he mentioned was that he some how raced me before? lol? the only time i've seen his POS car was when it was depreciating my property value parked in my neighborhood.[Edited on May 5, 2008 at 3:13 PM. i can tell you this.my honda is the definition of fast.
5/5/2008 5:30:21 PM
^^well thats what i'm saying. Dragging street cars is dull and boring. Although watching drag racing on TV is dull and boring but i'm sure sitting in one of those things is fun. But to me it would get old and boring too fast. all that time and effort adds up to 8 seconds of thrill.and yes, slowback is a dumbass.

^^ I concur, even though running with an EVO IX (not stock) on the highway was pretty cool. I don't think he expected a 944 to stay right there with him But for cereal, keep that shit off the streets [Edited on May 6, 2008 at 3:41 PM. Reason : just realized how little power a stock evo IX has... hmm.]
5/6/2008 3:34:56 PM
^that may be, but they hold their own very well.[Edited on May 6, 2008 at 4:04 PM. Reason : ]
5/6/2008 4:04:41 PM
^^yeah, evo's are incredible all around performance cars on most any surface. 4 doors and a trunk to boot. strictly straight line monsters they are not. however, relatively little investment can help that a lot. "real" street racing is a lot different than the fast and the furious shit most people are used to though.
5/6/2008 4:38:10 PM
Drag racing has a lot to do with pride in what you built too..Sure you can drive around a track but I'm willing to bet you have no clue how to setup a car (Golovko). Also i think you're drag racing speed threshold is way off too... look into a magazine and you'll find most "supercars" run somewhere in the 11s.... you don't have to run 10s to feel fast and in that range every few tenths feels like a completely different car (mainly because it requires a significant amount of power increase or weight loss or suspension work to gain a couple 10ths)]
5/6/2008 4:52:56 PM
5/6/2008 5:04:27 PM
Its not a call out or a dig... i'm just saying... sure its a different kind of feeling.... drag racers tend to be proud of what they built track day people tend to be arrogant about their skillz. I can't setup a car for track situations either... but i plan to learn.p.s. driving an evo around a track fast is like a kid with training wheels proud that he can stay up right on his bike. (thiiiss is a dig)

oh geez not again.you guys need to just shut up and stop talking about the differences between different motor sports.WTH, putting brake pads, susp and gas in a car doesnt really equate to "setting it up for the track (or strip)"the guy who can dial in susp. settings on a track car probably cant dial in launch settings on a drag car.so who cares.quit trying to act like one sport is superior to the other. they both take an ungodly amount of skill to get them right. every single one of us on here can take our cars from the strip to the track and vice versa without really any difference in mods/tweaks. (ok, maybe change a couple tires, but still)
