i need some more chips.
8/26/2008 4:46:37 PM
Gray's downtown next to Natty Greene's has good chips. They have good everything, actually. Probably my favorite lunch spot these days, plus the waitresses are usually hot and flirty.
8/26/2008 7:56:22 PM
i'ma gonna try there, next time i'm around.that reminds me, i need liquor and a cigar.
8/26/2008 10:18:49 PM

8/27/2008 12:16:37 AM
^ likewise, except I'll be watching it at a bar in Greensboro. I think it's supposed to rain Thursday anyway.
8/27/2008 8:25:13 AM
grey's tavern has an awesome curried squash wrap
8/29/2008 12:32:35 AM
I love that place. for $8 including tip you get a lunch that is nearly impossible to finish.
8/29/2008 8:36:11 AM
where is grey's tavern? i feel like i've heard of it but i don't know where it is.also does anyone here use any of the gboro ymcas?
9/1/2008 8:25:33 PM
Gray's is right next to Natty Greene's.I don't personally use any YMCA's but my sister works at the Spears YMCA on Horsepen Creek. One of my coworkers does water aerobics at the downtown YMCA. Both say they love them.
9/2/2008 8:21:17 AM
i go downtown. i just didn't know if anyone else did!
9/2/2008 6:30:47 PM
i go to the one downtown. i like it.
9/2/2008 9:42:25 PM
If I was a swimmer I would most likely use the YMCA. But I get everything i need at Gold's on Battleground.
9/3/2008 8:18:07 AM
^ yah i swim.i went to grey's last night (to drink not to eat). i just had one drink because i gave myself an 11pm curfew. but it was a cool place. i still want to go back and eat, though.does anyone know of a good tailor in gboro?
9/7/2008 12:43:25 PM
yeah, i kinda have a little crush on one of the waitresses there. i am pretty sure she's single, just not sure how to ask her out. i am always weird about flirting with / asking out attractive waitresses because I assume they get hit on all the time and are immune to it. any suggestions?
9/8/2008 9:23:44 AM
you can tell if they are into you by the way they treat you when it's not busy.it'll be kinda hard, but see if you can find out when she's working again, but not during a weekend.go in , sit in her section, see if she recognizes you or introduce yourself.eye contact.[Edited on September 8, 2008 at 12:46 PM. Reason : i know this is common sense, tip well.]
9/8/2008 12:46:13 PM
yeah, she knows us because we go in there quite a bit. comes and sits down with us when it isn't busy. i think she digs me. i know she hangs out up there on thursday nights when they have bands, so i think my approach is going to be rolling up there Thursday and talking to her when she isn't working.
9/8/2008 1:42:50 PM
best course of action.good call.it's miller time.
9/8/2008 8:09:20 PM

9/11/2008 5:20:31 PM
thanks!!!! i was wondering if i'd ever get an answer
9/11/2008 11:31:57 PM
The few things' i've had worked on I've also gone to BB's...good place, even though you can barely understand her
9/12/2008 8:17:15 AM
Does anyone in G-boro get the daily paper and read what they are re-doing with I-40 around Wendover? I only read what I could see from the outside because I didn't have any change when I got breakfast. Apparently instead to planning for the noise created by the new "loop" by building sound barriers they are just renaming Business I-40 back to regular I-40. . . Found it: http://www.news-record.com/content/2008/09/12/article/dot_to_divert_i_40_from_loopLet's hope that Death Valley doesn't regain it's namesake. That place was a freakin' nightmare in the weekends while trying to get to work at PTI.[Edited on September 13, 2008 at 8:04 PM. Reason : .]
9/13/2008 7:56:02 PM
GSO is a death trap no matter how much time or money they spend on it.
9/13/2008 8:58:16 PM
does anyone ever go to 1/2 priced wine night at cafe europa?i've never been. apparently it is where everyone downtown goes on wed nights. and not just law students. people at twerk were talking about it, too. i would go...except i would just rather sleep than drink.
9/17/2008 7:20:27 AM
I used to go every Wednesday mainly just to meet chicks (it's pretty much all women and gay dudes), because I don't drink wine. But you definitely need to go while the weather is still nice because you can stand outside. In the winter, it gets a little too packed for my taste. If you are a wine drinker I would say you definitely need to go. You'd enjoy it.
9/17/2008 10:17:38 AM
I need a J O B in the Greensboro Winston area...anybody know of anyone that is hiring?
9/30/2008 11:26:42 AM
what kind of job. a real job? or like a student-y job. what type of work?
9/30/2008 5:42:06 PM
a real job. I'd love to find a marketing/account management job (not sales) for a company around gboro. I'm pretty much open to anything that pays decent.
10/2/2008 11:23:32 AM
I looked at the Parks and Rec. pages of Greensboro but didnt see anything, Does anybody know of a co-ed flag football league in Greensboro? Im a member of one in Winston Salem but some people at work wanted to get a team together and didnt want to drive to WS to particpate. Thanks!
10/13/2008 10:01:10 AM
10/13/2008 11:14:57 AM
^^ I think the YMCA's have a league. You might want to call the one downtown and ask about it.
10/13/2008 4:51:01 PM
Tomorrow my sis is starting a gig with a Media General... something ado w/ Winston's paper between there and GSO
10/13/2008 7:45:49 PM
I know Media General owns the Winston-Salem Journal, so I assume she is working for the newspaper. What is she going to be doing for them?
10/13/2008 8:16:17 PM
Sales IIRC... or whatever a comm grad is doomed to entitled?
10/13/2008 8:24:27 PM
don't front on sales homie. I make over triple in sales than I would with my Microbiology degree.[Edited on October 13, 2008 at 9:05 PM. Reason : a]
10/13/2008 9:04:36 PM

[dork - first Old School post]Ugh, born and raised in Greensboro, back after graduating in December, living at home. Desperately looking for a job (not in NC, hopefully).
1/6/2009 9:52:21 PM
^ I still need to get over there and eat one day. I have heard so many good things
1/7/2009 9:03:01 AM
Ah, you should! I know I'm biased because I grew up around it, but it's damn good food.
1/7/2009 2:37:43 PM
Do they serve food at there? The Polish deli on High Point road in Adams Farm has some good kielbasa fwiw.
1/7/2009 7:29:29 PM
it's not a sit-down restaurant, it's a store. but he sells sandwiches of all kinds (falafel, turkey, ham, italian/turkish meats, wrapped in a very thin bread, etc etc), meat pies, cheese pies, spinach pies, stuffed grape leaves, hummus, baba ghanouj, etc etc etc. (And it's all homemade.) along with roasted nuts, chocolate, crackers, cookies, rices and pastas, beans, a huge deli selection...basically foods from all over the world.basically, this is the best summary of the store i can offer: review from news & record
1/7/2009 9:45:43 PM
Might have to check it out
1/8/2009 6:10:01 AM

1/8/2009 8:44:05 AM
Ahahaha except that we're far from jews. My dad is Palestinian. Arabic food FTMFW.
1/8/2009 4:33:57 PM

1/8/2009 4:58:49 PM

1/8/2009 5:09:00 PM

1/8/2009 5:47:10 PM
Aha, my dad welcomes all people. As long as you're not a Gaza-bombing Israeli, you're more than welcome!
