So does the 74.99/mo Sunday Ticket offer the games in HD? Should we sign up ASAP or wait until football starts to get the most out of it.

^so does that make it go up 25$ a month or is it a one time fee?

i guess since it would take only 4 months to pay it anyways would it just be the same thing?

i think superfan is a one-time fee.

you might be able to split it into payments, though. I didnt ask

can you do AAA and NFL ticket for 74.95/mo?

Is it 2 year contract or just 1?

i think all are 2 year contracts and if you call the AAA number you should still be able to tie in with the NFL promo

should I share the 50.00 referral with my roommates

Oh, 10/mo for AAA and 10/mo for an account number? I guess we'll split the monthly bill then, since it's going to be the third roommate 'signing' the contract and such. I doubt he will 'go green' though

how many of you guys applied the referral credit after you already signed up for a package?

I bit on that cashcrate thread in chitchat for the 125 bucks, but after it clears I'm going to try and get a referral credit applied. Maybe the AAA too...I doubt I'll have any leverage for free superfan after being locked into the contract though

It is impossible to add a aaa discount after you have started your service. You have to call a aaa number to sign up for the offer from the beginning.

Yeah, I figured AAA would be difficult to impossible. Maybe the referral account # will work though. AAA = 10/mo for 2yrs shared on 3 heads, vs 125 instantly to me though.

Anyone have a breakdown of the packages from TWC? Those fucks don't give you an easy way to see what each package has. They just list all the channels and then color code which are which. You turn off the ones you don't want to see, and it doesn't do shit.

I'm trying to compare packages to see which one I'd like to go with for DirectTV.

Fuck, no LOS from my side of this duplex. There's a spot where we can get everything but locals and it's going to be right at the 125ft signal degradation mark.

man, if only directv had espnu on their choice extra i would go with them. I really think i may stick with the terrible service of twc because of this.

Anyone else have any ways to get cheaper service? I always got ripped off with twc.

lol most plans you get that for free

i paid $30 at installation for an hd dvr box and an hd box and all the installation stuff. if you're interested, just call directv and go over it on the phone...some things don't really show up online.

^any cable package from twc comes with locals in HD (even the analog packages)

if you don't have a digital package, however, your tv must have a HD tuner built in

if you have a digital package, go swap out your box for its HD equivalent, it's free.

Basic meaning the lowest digital tier (digipic 1000.) Their current introductory pricing (without DVR service and before the remote control and cable box fees) is 49.95 a month. Regular pricing (after 6 months) is 68.00 a month. That doesn't include the 7.95 per month for having the cable box and the 31 cents for the remote. I think they also tack on a third charge and taxes/fees. It ends up being about 60-70 a month for just digital cable with HD service. Yeah, you can get a deal for a couple months but after the fees and additional charges it's still going to be at least as much as smoothcrim said.

ah finally, directv sub/private contractor is out here and is running two lines to living room. I'd rather have them ran to my junction box so that all 4 RG6 outlets in the house had the potential to be live, but at this point I don't care anymore. Sunday Ticket is within grasp!

Maybe I can use this as leverage for some free shit.

Alright, here in Charlotte, this is what's going on with me.

I got a flier that our apartment is setting up a central location of dishes, so even if you don't have a LOS you can get directv. Then at the bottom it said to call this one guy.

I called him and he told me that only he could set it up and not to call directv main line. I tried to negotiate with him and he said he couldn't. So, I quit the call. Then I called him up later explaining how i decided to sign up and he took all my info and got me signed up for the nfl deal blah blah. Well, he also said how he'd give me a text message of my account information so I could log on online.

Well, that never came. So I called directv directly and got the friendliest guy. He told me this other guy was full of shit and that he just said not to call directv directly that way he could get his commission. This other guy set me up with a hell of a deal for my troubles. The NFL deal going on, along with free HD service for those 4 months, along with $15 off for 4 months. I also have AAA and a referral, so I am sitting pretty.

The only thing I hope is that when directv comes today, they will be able to install it and that my landlord will be ok with this whole ordeal. If all is good after today, I will try to weasle my way into getting the NFL ticket in HD for free as well. Try to pull the "I was mislead and under the impression it comes with all the games in HD because...."

[Edited on August 21, 2008 at 10:47 AM. Reason : i forgot i get free showtime for a year as well]

see, this is why i have a huge negative balance...

i had 2 accounts for some reason. The first account with my deals of -15 off for 4 months along with AAA 10 off a month and refer a friend got deleted. The second account was set up after installation. Not to mention 2 directv people showed at my apt. and argued over who was to get the job.

So, they finally gave me 210 dollar credit for AAA (which is still 30 bucks off) 50 bucks for the argument honored the showtime for a year and 10 dollars off for 6 months not 5 for refer a friend. The thing is, is that the -15 off for the first 4 months was supposed to give me free hd and an extra receiver. Now my first bill was ass high without that cash taken off. So, I still feel as if I'm getting ripped off.

^ I do see how you get better results and better argument power with an even balance though
