got another recruit, a 4-star athlete and track guy from VA., Damien Thigpenhttp://tennessee.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?Sport=1&pr_key=58634
4/21/2008 6:37:21 PM
nice a 4.3 forty. where do you think he'll play. with that speed and small stature, he could be used similar to how Darren Sproles was used at Kansas State.
4/21/2008 6:42:55 PM
yeah, probably something like that... return guy, maybe a corner but he is mighty short
4/21/2008 6:47:05 PM
yeah i think he's too short to play corner. definitely a return man and possible slot back.
4/21/2008 6:48:49 PM
how about that draft.(and yeah I know you intended UT, but, title it better if theres a problem)
4/28/2008 10:28:23 AM
^or read the thread if there's a problem of being a douchebag
4/28/2008 10:53:52 AM
^^Hahah your draft can't be too good when you take an ECU player first.....no way Johnson does anything besides be a decent return man in the NFL.
4/28/2008 11:53:43 AM
yeah, the Titans (which have nothing to do with this thread by the way) had a fucking god awful draft, just a big pile of shit... no idea what they were thinking.

^ hahahha, missed that...and Rivals has Eric Berry as the 3rd scariest defensive player in the country for this upcoming year... I assume they mean scariest as in "scary to the offense" and not as in "meanest, hardest hitter etc"... but from some of the comments it may be a bit of both... either way, the man is a fucking beast as a sophomore.http://collegefootball.rivals.com/photofeature.asp?SID=1144&fid=22987
6/4/2008 1:28:20 AM

6/13/2008 9:06:27 PM

6/14/2008 4:19:38 PM

6/14/2008 7:12:32 PM
jesus Phil, what are you putting in the Kool Aid up there?got ANOTHER commitment today, OT JerQuari Schofield from SC, beat out Bama, Florida, and Clemson.
6/15/2008 1:41:12 AM
got another one, QB Bryce Petty, 3-star signalcaller and the 26th ranked pro-style quarterback... not great, but not bad... hes young, good QB frame though, 6'3, 210lb and just turned 17
6/18/2008 7:49:05 PM
Wow that's a lot of commitments in a short period of time. Hopefully State will begin to have half the recruiting excitement that Tennessee is experiencing right now.
6/18/2008 8:59:47 PM
yeah, I lost track but it was something like 4-6 in a 3-4 day period, all based around the camp they had on campus... apparently Clawson is a really cool, honest guy, recruits are loving him
6/18/2008 10:03:26 PM
When I read Clawson, I thought you meant Casey Clausen, like he joined the staff as a recruiting coordinator or some low level recruiter. Then I realized you meant the new OC/QB coach that replaced Cutcliffe, Dave Clawson.http://www.utsports.com/football/coachbio.aspx?id=48308
6/18/2008 10:24:33 PM
haha yeah, although I have seen Casey Clausen down here at my local watering hole 2-3 times lately

Hey Jaybee are you a premie? If so can you post this panoramic of Neyland resized to fit the page? This might make a pretty good wallpaper. Very high quality picture.http://www.brendanloy.com/blog/images/neyland-pano.jpg[Edited on June 18, 2008 at 11:53 PM. Reason : ]

Recruiting class for next year is looking really strong so far for UT.That's a nice pic of Neyland. It's now my new wallpaper. Thanks.
6/19/2008 11:42:34 AM
^^ you say that while responding to someone else's post and its not really a discussion thread right now during the off season anyways, just a depository for information... trust me, in typical tdub fashion as soon as they lose a game there will be plenty of people commenting
6/19/2008 12:24:29 PM
PackGuitar I feel your pain. Why'd they have to close down the Michigan Football thread? I had some great pictures in there, some that I might have trouble finding ever again.
6/19/2008 12:43:29 PM
^well can you show me as much as you can?
6/19/2008 5:20:47 PM
How about we bring the Michigan Football 2008 thread back, by posting a new one. The rule is it's got to get to 2 pages right? So I'll just post a pic in one post until we get it to 2 pages.
6/19/2008 8:34:36 PM
Greetings from Knoxville... the renovations to Neyland are more extensive than I thought... they are going to have to bust ass to get that shit done by the fall.
6/21/2008 8:20:02 PM
someone sent me this today, shitty camera work but I cant blame him too much, I wouldnt be concentrating on that much either... fuck, football cant come soon enough[Edited on June 23, 2008 at 8:05 PM. Reason : d]

I'm here in Knoxville, too. Every other week I'll drive down from Karns to see how things are coming at the stadium. Still looks a little ways from where they should be. I haven't kept up with much of the recruiting stuff lately. Luckily our sports guy Russo keeps me on top of that!
6/23/2008 10:37:02 PM
I was just there last weekend for a alumni meeting, place is changing SO fast, they put that new building up at the corner of 17th and Cumberland fast as shit
6/23/2008 10:41:20 PM
oh snap, this is a biggie... didnt think he would announce this early, apparently no one did haha
6/25/2008 2:39:48 PM
Wow I hope he likes what he sees once he visits the campus. I haven't heard of too many players committing to a school without having checked out the campus at least on an unofficial visit. What's his overall rating though? I remember Glennon was ranked the #5 and #3 QB overall by Scout and Rivals respectively. Will he be a guy that can come in and take over the starting spot after a redshirt year? I can't access Scout or Rivals at work.
6/25/2008 2:48:20 PM
Rivals separates them out by pro-style and dual threat, hes the 10th ranked pro-style.
6/25/2008 2:53:16 PM
Now that I'm home, I've been able to check out Nunes some. I think he's a pretty good get. He's ranked the 17th best QB on Scout, and it appears he's the 16th best QB on Rivals. He's no Mike Glennon in terms of hype though. I like Nunes' size, but I'm concerned about his speed. A 4.85 40 is something I'm a little concerned about considering the speed of the defenses in the SEC. I like my QBs to have good mobility to them. I mean they don't have to run 4.4 40s but I expect them to be faster than most of the linemen coming at them. Maybe he'll be able to get faster while he's a UT. I watched his highlight vid. It was mainly deep passes where he threw it to a receiver getting behind the DB covering him. I wonder how good he is at throwing slants, button hooks, and other short range passes, especially those where timing is essential. I think he's a good pickup and has promise, but I still want to see him make those kind of throws before I can fully evaluate him. I like the ASU, UF, and OU offers. The BYU offer is a good one from a QB standpoint b/c they are known for needing excellent passers to run their pass happy offense.
6/25/2008 7:26:38 PM
if the O-line keeps playing like it has been (I think it was 4 sacks allowed last year) and he can work on getting rid of the ball in time a 4.85 will be fine, I dont think either Ainge or Manning could run that.Checked it, Ainge ran a 5.15 haha.I really like Nunes arm and smarts, I bet he will go up a lot his senior year in the rankings[Edited on June 25, 2008 at 7:46 PM. Here you go Jaybee.....I took out the stuff on the UCLA kid. This is from Brian Dohn, UCLA's beat writer. UCLA fans seem to like Nunes over Brehaut, but Brehaut accepted his scholly first and that was the last open spot for 09, so they stopped pursuing Nunes.

7/1/2008 4:45:43 PM
Here's some highlights I doubt you've seen of Nunes... Our team played Upland from 1995-1998, they were in our league at the time. They were godawful, think they lost like 42 games in a row at some point. http://youtube.com/watch?v=qTbXl-Td-dI&feature=related

guy definitely has a good arm... like the out patterns
