I finally got my nitro tc3 all put together and drove it today. WeeeeeeeeI think I'm going to sell my f1 car because parts are being discontinued left and right. I can get as much as I bought it for on ebay anyway. I haven't been to Fuquay on Friday nights in about 7 weeks now but if its clear this Friday I will most likely go. Need to get the car(s) out.
5/27/2008 7:11:33 PM
Wanna go drive somewhere tonight? I'll break out my NTC3 and we can just hit up a parkinglotsomewhere.
5/27/2008 7:58:02 PM
well i got to be at work at 7am so I'll pass but thanks for the offer. Also I just put some gasket maker on the motor about an hour ago...............none of my other cars are in one piece right now either
5/27/2008 8:08:46 PM
i got a cheap plane this weekend and it is a blast!!! time for a rc 4x4 truck
5/27/2008 8:19:19 PM
haha, that's straight. My 1/8 scale has a stripped steering servo, so the NTC3 is the only car I have running right now.
5/27/2008 8:19:23 PM
well i had to take the radio out of the tc4 for the ntc3. thats all. just the receiver. I'm going to remove the ESC and receiver out of my f1 car before I sell it. I just don't want to crash it again and not be able to get parts. and tires for it are expensive too. I could use touring tires but they don't look right I am always taking parts of off different cars to get one or two to work.
5/27/2008 8:31:51 PM
I have tomorrow off and a friend is going with me to the track at durham. So if anybody wants to go...............
6/2/2008 5:47:52 PM
probably be there between 11:30 and 3pm today
6/3/2008 9:08:00 AM
buy my vendetta ST, fools.
6/3/2008 10:47:38 AM
Sounds like the track in Durham is going to race on Saturdays instead of Sundays, which means I can race now. Here are some pics from practicing today
6/3/2008 9:33:09 PM
Nice! I'm tryin to get rid of my TC4's, so I might come out there one day and set up a for sale table, lol.I actually did the exact same thing about 4 years ago when I sold all of my offroad stuff.
6/3/2008 9:36:00 PM
I've had previous experience with rc cars both on/off road. I wouldn't call myself a novice in this field; I'd say my skills are in the intermediate level. I'm looking for a "street" RC to help me get back into this. I'd prefer something electric as I don't want to have to deal with all the maintenance involved with gas just yet. I was looking at a Traxxasmt 4-Tec. Any other suggestions? I wouldn't mind building the car myself either. That was just one recommended to me.[Edited on June 4, 2008 at 12:02 PM. Reason : .]

^dude, i've got 2 TC4's that'd be great for you to get started back with.I've got pretty much all electronics you'd need for it too. (FM radio, Novak Cyclone speed control, batteries, chargers, power supplies, battery dischargers/equalizers, etc.)Check out my post in the earlier part of this thread and let me know if anything sounds appealing.I'd cut you a good deal.[Edited on June 4, 2008 at 12:06 PM. I also have an interest in R/C boats, and I have an electric that I frequently run on Lake Johnson. Yes, electrics are allowed -- gas-powered stuff isn't, though. Like cheerwhiner said in an earlier thread, Lake Wheeler is a much better choice for gas-powered boats.IcedFire: The Triangle Model Yacht Club ([url]http://www.trianglemyc.org[/url]) sails just about every Saturday morning at Lake Johndson. I've talked to some of those guys -- they're good, friendly people. But if you're into anything other than sailing, I'm not aware of any clubs in the area, and I've done some pretty exhaustive searching to find one. I've got an email in with TMYC to see if they know of any, but assuming they don't (and that they aren't interested in starting a non-sailing division), I'm very likely about to pull the trigger on forming a club. Anyone interested, shoot me a PM or reply here.-bigginal[Edited on June 17, 2008 at 1:43 AM. Reason : TMYC]

one of the complaints of a casual on-looker is that 1/10 electric racing looks boring. The bodies are all the same and based on Mazda 6 and Dodge Stratus cars. You basically have and have-nots as well, so there is a disparity in the action. Kinda like F1 some feel.So now there is a Vintage Trans-Am series! Check this out: http://www.usvintagetransam.com/
6/25/2008 8:30:52 PM
Anyone wanna run in a parkinglot tonight?I wanna fire up the NTC3 for a bit.
6/25/2008 8:35:48 PM
JULY 13th at DurhamI will be running the Vintage Trans Am. I just made 2 4 cell battery packs using cells from 2 6 cell packs. Some cells were not working but I have 9, so I got a spare........add to a 6 to make a 7 cell pack? anyway I will be sure to have off of work, make it a vacation day may as well. This seems to be the best class for not having to buy tires and shit over and over. I have read a set of tires can last like 20 runs!
6/26/2008 12:30:50 PM
hmmm...might have to give that class a shot.I REALLY wanted to sell my TC4's, but this sounds like fun...Can you say...
6/26/2008 2:30:17 PM
well there are only about 6 or so bodies that are 'legal' for this class. I'm really excited. I just need to buy a body and tires since I've made some battery packs. Pay attention to gearing too.
6/27/2008 5:35:23 AM
That's a freakin shame the General Lee isnt one of the approved bodies.
6/27/2008 1:42:00 PM
remember this Sunday BIG race at Durham. ROAR national champ will be racing too. I don't plan to race, got to work early in the morning, but will be there in the afternoon. Probably around 1:30 with my trusty camera. Been about a year since I've run, so I need to see whats going on first anyway.
7/9/2008 6:54:00 PM
well looks like racing will remain on Sundays at Durham. I think I wont be able to race much if at all this year. I haven't spent any money really so not upset. Still going tomorrow to watch. I'll have some stuff for sale soon too
7/12/2008 1:34:46 PM
7/17/2008 9:26:46 AM
about 200 more at http://s146.photobucket.com/albums/r242/cheerwhiner/CTCS/
7/17/2008 9:28:43 AM
Dammit, now you've made me wanna go drive mine.Know any good parking lots around raleigh that I can drive my NTC3 in?
7/17/2008 7:06:59 PM
Tomorrow (Saturday) I could go to Durham for a while. I need to test out my stuff if I'm going to race so it wouldn't be a bad idea. I plan on running some later this year. The Carolina Touring Series will return to Durham in August, and I want a trophy dammit!
7/18/2008 6:36:44 AM
picked up a Shelby gt 350 body to run the vintage trans am class. Fuquay Hobby Shop had it sitting there so I painted it up. Didn't have tires need to order. That is all I need now. All the stuff I am putting on ebay will be linked on this thread too.
7/21/2008 9:52:31 PM
Finally got my F201 on ebayhttp://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220260601437if somebody local wins I won't charge for shipping
7/22/2008 9:16:01 PM
I got money for stuff now! anyway I plan on going to Fuquay tonight. I have no excuses not to go. It shouldn't rain, all my stuff works, I have money to fix anything that breaks, I don't have to work at 6 or 7am on Saturday either...................
8/1/2008 6:33:12 AM
Haha, I'd love to come out there myself tonight but I think I need to rebuild my clutch...and I smacked a curb yesterday in my culdesac. Broke the passenger front wheel off, lower A-arm, and bulkhead.
8/1/2008 9:02:45 AM
fired up the nitro tc3 its running oktc4 works goodtime to pack up and goI will have pics as always
8/1/2008 6:47:23 PM
Those are some sweet photos. Action packed shit.
8/1/2008 7:23:16 PM
well tnezami and I went to Fuquay. I'll get pics up tomorrow. My nitro tc3 popped a ball cup and went crazy......so i stopped running itthen I melted a cheap motor in my tc4. the smell of burning electronics well I am glad I went. BIG turnout. I am trying to go out more often.well need to order some small parts and I'll be ready. so pics coming tomorrow.
8/1/2008 11:54:29 PM
i'll try and get my stuff ready for next weekend.
8/2/2008 1:14:25 AM
pics from Fuquayhttp://s146.photobucket.com/albums/r242/cheerwhiner/fuquayRC/tnezami in some of the pics
8/4/2008 9:53:08 PM
ummmm....i hate to break it to you....but I didnt go to Fuquay on Friday....I thought you had just made a typo in your post from that night about me going with you, lol.I'm definitely not in any of those photos either. Who's this tnezami impostor? [Edited on August 5, 2008 at 12:40 AM. Reason : .]
8/5/2008 12:39:17 AM
uh wow sorry. I know I have met you before but this guy had a nitro tc3 with a clutch problem but had another one and I thought he was you........sorry about thatbut as you CAN see from the pics big turnouts. with my schedule making it nearly impossible to 'race' I am just not going to waste $$ on racing stuff and just run down at Fuquay on Friday nights. In fact I am putting some 7 cell packs together for my electric motors to run off of. Cheaper than going lipo right now. Plus I can run nitro at fuquay - because nobody races nitro anymore, its nice to be able to drive it somewhere in a somewhat controlled environment. I have 2 nitro tc3s now and finally somewhere to run.Plenty of food in walking distance, Wendy's, Starbuck's, and Taco Bell all right there. We get a big crowd of spectators too. Its actually what I would want for a real race track but that location would be impossible to set up during a Saturday while Tractor Supply Co is open. Otto wants to start an offroad track but all of his customers have on road stuff to run Friday nights with! sorry about that mistaken case of identity [Edited on August 5, 2008 at 8:03 AM. Reason : id]
8/5/2008 7:59:14 AM
Well, they already have a complete offroad track built! They're just waiting on the city to approve it.I'm seriously thinking about selling out all of my stuff. I want to buy a newer motorcycle.Would you or anyone be interested in any nitro TC3 stuff, 2 TC4's, or a 1/8 scale Jammin X1 CR (offroad buggy).I think I listed out pretty much everthing I have in an earlier post.
8/5/2008 8:17:15 AM
bring all that to Fuquay. I might want some tires and I'd like to look at the tc4 and ntc3 parts. Others may be interested in other parts.
8/5/2008 10:40:42 AM
Yeah, I think I might pack it all up and bring it to Fuquay this friday. You interested in anything before then besides tires really? Make an offer on the entire TC3 parts lot
8/5/2008 11:19:21 AM
got to see it first
8/5/2008 12:41:11 PM
No prob. I'll try to bring it to Fuquay. All parts listed in the Nitro TC3 lot are brand new in the packaging and have never been touched by human hands!
8/5/2008 2:31:47 PM
I just sold everything I had. Gotta pay for my CBR 600rr somehow
8/7/2008 8:32:39 PM
thats ok, I didn't "need" anything. Are you keeping any RC stuff at all?By the way tonight will be absolutely gorgeous outside and I am only bringing my perfect ntc3 to play with. not gonna fiddle with anything else.
8/8/2008 8:33:15 AM
No, I sold it all. Again.I have no doubts though that once I get my bike paid for and things settle down a bit, I'll get back into R/C
8/8/2008 9:03:54 AM
last night i put about 4 tanks through my ntc3. I spent a lot of time helping new guys out which I love to do. as long as my stuff is working OK first.
8/9/2008 8:41:02 AM
Congrats on the RR, that shyte is nasty y0. Are you in the Raleigh area? Must find people to ride with, G.(My torque is bigger than yours)
8/9/2008 9:58:01 AM
Ahahaha..torque... I'm pretty sure i've got enough torque to make me shit my britches. But yeah, I'm picking it up this week (the previous owner's doing a little work to it before I buy it...new chain, sprocket, adding adjustable Vortex pegs, new brake/clutch levers, etc.)Once I get it and get it titled and insured, I'll definitely give you a holler.
8/10/2008 6:22:14 PM
probably picking up a traxxas rustler vxl tomorrow
8/10/2008 8:18:27 PM
oh yeah. Just so you all know the Fuquay hobby shop actually is opening a kick ass offroad track about 5 miles east of Downtown FV. Looks fantastic. So my next vehicle may be offroad! AS soon as I learn more I'll post. Supposed to be getting permits this week to 'open.'
