fyi evo 4 and beyond has a backwards 4g63. the cam gears and transmission are on the other side of the car (tranny went from passenger to driver), so an evo motor will not swap into a dsm unless it's an evo 3 or older.

also took the a/c, powersteering, and evap system off. buying a non cruise control throttle cable so that can go too.

getting block back Wednesday. if the mls head gasket comes in time we hope to have this unit running by the end of next weekend. (and if the flywheel and injectors get here by then..)

taking a motor out and redoering it and putting a slightly bigger turbo on it is a build one way or another.
now if he threw a clutch turbo and an intake on it . thats bolt on shit.

my shit is going to suck a drag racing, even if it had any real horsepower compared to the shit it's going to have, you know this.

My buddy and I plan to get it done... ill drive it around... start saving for a real engine build and find an awd chassis to swap everything into, or get an awd tranny and rear end to swap into this fwd setup if i ever wanted to make it decently quick, i really doubt that would ever happen till i get a full time job next year tho.

i know the oil return line is kinked, fixed it later.

we were going to put it in the car today, but the rebuild kit didnt included the gasket that goes from the mani to the turbo..lame.

yeah, make sure you get a good metal one or it'll leak after the first heat cycle. is your manifold cracked anywhere? most of them love to do it. i welded mine 3-4 times.

haha..yes it has 2 cracks. one very minor.. and one pretty major. we'll see how bad it leaks...also on the head im missing 2 of the bolts or whatever for the manifold to mount too, ie they broke off. we'll see how well it seals.. my buddy said when it ran he didnt hear anything leaking.

about the gasket, i wonder if mitsibushi stocks metal ones? im using a mls head gasket and exhaust mani. gasket for those 2. the rebuild kit actually gave papery shitty gaskets for what i need.. i refuse to use that shit.

k so the engine is all done and ready to go in.. but our cherry picker broke, so we have another that will be arriving thursday to get it in the car.

the only thing i have left to buy is a wideband 02 sensor, at least i hope!

fuck, thanks man. but i already bought it for 107 shipped to my buddies house. the biggest issue was fitting one in my lil celica to get it to my buddies house where the car is at. and im pretty sure this is not the last time i will be using a cherry picker at my buddies house, whether i blow up this car or my celica.

I would highly recommend replacing that 1g manifold with a 2g or evo3 manifold. while shitty for most things slowboy has evo3 manifolds, port matched to the gasket and a multilayer metal gasket for like $250 when I got mine. Also, check with eric at turbotime in cary. He can get a tdo5 gasket for your turbo. metal too

got a new manifold too that is already welded up for 24 bucks.

was going to get a spare tranny for 50 bucks, but it turns out it was a non turbo tranny bc that eclipse had a turbo engine swapped into it.

the car before it was torn down, the intercooler needs to be mounted higher. it feels good to have a manifold without gaping holes in it. buddy kevin who is doin the car welded the shit outta em. and welded in the 02 sensor for the aem wideband.
