I smoked the Willie this weekend, I really liked it. Definitely recommend it.

I had a Rocky Patel Old World Reserve on Sunday. It was very nice.
3/10/2009 9:38:23 PM
I'm still going through a tin of McClelland's Anniversary. I smoked it today in a Peterson 304. Very enjoyable.
3/11/2009 12:10:47 AM
I go to JR's and get the MC knockoffs -
3/11/2009 1:00:12 PM
tried blue note for the 1st time today....bowl full of happiness
3/13/2009 11:28:18 PM
Yeah it is. I haven't found any tobacco stores that carry it down here. My love affair with La Gloria Cubana continues though. Sitting here smoking a Serie R and listening to Cephas and Wiggins. Quite the evening.
3/17/2009 8:01:01 PM
tried an opus x tonight. I bought a "rare" sampler of 4 from cigar.com- not what it was anticipated to be. dry, uneven burn and actually went out about half way through. I much prefer the padron 1926 anniversary series, much cheaper (still around 15- 20 a stick) but probably the best non cuban smoke I've ever had. if you've not tried these you owe it to yourself to pickup one, or a padron sampler.also the closest thing I've had to a real cuban in terms of full bodied-ness/ strength is the tatuaje brand.[Edited on March 18, 2009 at 6:02 AM. 3/18/2009 5:59:13 AM
Any particular Tatuaje?
3/18/2009 7:00:45 PM
has anyone tried nat shermans? they are 'interesting'. smooth yes.
3/18/2009 7:22:55 PM
you mean the gay little cigarillos?[Edited on March 18, 2009 at 7:39 PM. Reason : i mean, not to knock them, but they're not the manliest thing out there]
3/18/2009 7:28:34 PM
^^^ the Tatuaje Miami is a good one to start with.
3/22/2009 7:57:25 AM
i had a Rocky Patel Sun Grown yesterday. It was very smooth. Will smoke again.
3/23/2009 10:22:32 AM
Working a Punch Rare Corojo today:Pretty mild without being boring, even burn, good tight cigar.
5/22/2009 5:50:14 PM
Just lit a Hoya Excalibur...Can anyone recommend a humidifier?the one that came with my humidor is a P.I.T.A. to refill weekly. I am thinking about trying some of the gel solutions, but I would like to hear some feedback firstFYI I only have a 50 Cigar Humidor, so I dont need anything really big
6/12/2009 11:16:16 PM
I've got a plane-jane humidor that does a decent, though not stellar, job. I keep it humidified with the Xikar system. (9k)
7/16/2009 4:13:39 PM
My brother got me a Xikar Xi3 cutter for my birthday:Speaking of birthdays, I've been smoking a pipe for over 12 years now, but can maybe count on one hand the number of times I've burned the bottom third of the tobacco in the bowl. Anyone else experience this?
8/18/2009 9:34:09 PM
Interesting article by a divinity student comparing the different forms of tobacco consumption.http://www.leaderu.com/ftissues/ft9704/opinion/foley.html

I had a Liga Privada No. 9 last night. Simply sublime, if a bit pricier than I normally like. I've heard some positive reviews of the 5 Vegas series. I was wondering if anyone had tried them in here? I've yet to find them near where I live.
9/3/2009 2:25:24 PM
5 "cinco" vegas is a good cigar for the price point. Get them online from cigarsinternational.com. The "A" series Atomic is good, as well the the robusto from the Gold series.
9/3/2009 2:28:44 PM
Whats the cheapest way to get started?
9/3/2009 3:00:45 PM
for pipes? Go to Georges, pick a pipe you find that fits your hand, get some MV1000 if he still carries it, some pipe cleaners, a pipe tool and start smoking. You could do that easy for under $60.The beauty is that the pipe is a one time investment and pipe tobacco doesn't cost the $$ that my fucking cigar habit does.
9/3/2009 3:24:18 PM
The next big question is how do I smoke a pipe at a bar without looking like a weirdo?
9/3/2009 3:27:11 PM
you don't. That's why I really only smoke at home
9/3/2009 3:46:25 PM
9/3/2009 6:12:15 PM
I like a strong cigar and the aftertaste doesn't bother me, in fact I hardly noticed it. However, if you don't like a strong cigar I can see how you wouldn't enjoy it.

9/12/2009 5:51:03 PM
When you pack it, fill it to the brim, then tamp it down with your thumb until it is a bit springy. Repeat till you've got 1/2 to 2/3 of the bowl full. You don't want to smoke from the top until you've got a good cake going towards the bottom.
9/12/2009 6:12:00 PM
Wow. That was lovely. I didn't pack it tight enough on the first go round, but I'm sure I'll do better next time.Thats actually a nice clean burn compared to a lot of cigars I've had. I'm sold.
9/12/2009 6:52:45 PM
Stop by Georges and get McClelland Christmas Cheer:It is a flake tobacco so you might want to have George show you how to prep it before smoking.Smoking a Perdomo Patriarch as we speak. A little spicy for me but extremely well rolled.
10/18/2009 4:47:39 PM
Smoking a Cain Habano Ligero, bout to nub it. Great cigar for $6 a pop.
10/20/2009 8:05:50 PM
How does the canned stuff compare to the stuff in the jars?
10/20/2009 8:45:22 PM
Canned vs. bulk?Bulk tobacco is a bit more generic than canned tobacco as far as flavors and quality can range. This is where you'll find more of your flavored tobaccos and less control over the quality of leave that goes into the blend. On the other hand, some small shops will create their own blends out of bulk tobacco and that can be quite good.Tinned tobacco tends to be more tightly controlled by the manufacturer and will make more use of "exotic" tobacco like Perique. Manufacturers are going to put more effort into making sure they produce a consistent quality product on something they've attached their name to.I don't really have any experience with brands like Prince Albert or Captain Black.^ What've you been smoking so far?]
10/20/2009 9:18:03 PM
A bit of the MV1000 from George's and a few different blends from the Tinder Box.
10/20/2009 9:24:45 PM
MV1000 was my first, good stuff. Try out Blue Note and the McClelland's Christmas blend. I don't have any experience with Tinderbox stuff.

10/21/2009 10:30:49 AM
Rocky Patel and Gurkas are my favorites. If you see a Rocky Summer 2008 in the store grab it they are awesome and limited release. Nice Medium Body and spicyThe Gurka Fury is another one of my favorites, a little fuller in body and also spicy
10/24/2009 10:32:10 PM
firing up the pipe for the first time in 4 months (just don't seem to enjoy smoking all that much in the warmer months).got a bowl full of squadron leader and some B & B...just waiting for the steelers/vikings game to start
10/25/2009 12:22:02 PM
I'd looked at that before, but I just can't smoke a Latakia. Smoking some Peterson Sunset Breeze right now.
10/25/2009 1:51:17 PM
Burned my last of 5 Siglo VI's today. It was over 3 years old. I shed a fucking tear [Edited on October 28, 2009 at 9:55 PM. Reason : ]
10/28/2009 9:54:17 PM
smoking some balkan sasieni at the moment ....a bit heavy on the latakia but a fairly well balanced balkan. Pretty good with black coffee.
11/8/2009 5:57:55 PM
i'll probably smoke my last hemingway signature tonight. need to restock on those, they're one of my favorites.
11/10/2009 4:01:50 PM
opinions on Macanudo brand? i had a Hampton Court when my niece was born and it was pretty decent all around
11/10/2009 4:05:12 PM
I'm not a fan per-se. They aren't a bad generic smoke, but they're nothing special.
11/10/2009 8:08:03 PM
I thing a Macanudo is a very good mild cigar. I prefer the Maduro and Robusto over the Connecticut though.but there are better cigars for the money.ymmv[Edited on November 10, 2009 at 10:16 PM. Reason : .]
11/10/2009 10:16:17 PM
best cigar for the money is a cabaiguan by pepin gargcia. mild smoke, but damn delicious. if you want something similar but more full bodied go for a tatuaje.
11/11/2009 10:08:08 PM
Smoking a Perdomo limited edition 2008 right now. Medium smoke with just a little bit of spice. Its really nice with this mild weather an a glass of scotch.
11/17/2009 5:55:42 PM
I just discovered Perdomo a few weeks ago. I had a Perdomo Patriarch which I enjoyed and I enjoyed my Lot 23 Delicioso enough that I went and bought a half-dozen of them.
11/17/2009 6:35:20 PM
set em up
