i guess they do. but i think of it more as they "interpret the law" - and lets not forget that in order to do that in a courtroom you have to pass the bar and have a well rounded law education

but based off what you're saying, and what the others say, i'd consider myself an armchar attorney in the matter of criminal defense law in NC.

which is pretty specific. i know my NC criminal law and my constitution, but i couldnt tell you much about bankruptcy or social security or all that stuff. i just happen to be up on the 2% of the law that comes up on here the most. i dont consider myself an attorney, but i do think my advice in the criminal/traffic arena is very valid, and i think lots of people here who have messaged me about it would back me up

Fair point, but just because they were found not guilty does not mean they were actually not guilty. It means there was insufficient evidence to prove them guilty. I'd like to know the percentage of the truly guilty that get off on a technicality, but I suppose that data is impossible to gather.

Goddamn you're a fucking moron. Whatever suspected criminal actions brought the cops to his house, it doesn't give them the right to be incompetent and kill him. He probably did steal those playstations, and for all I know he could be a bad person, and maybe he even deserved to die and the world is better off without him, but none of that matters because the cops are supposed to be able to arrest people without fucking up so monumentally. What happens if the cops do this again and it happens to someone who's completely innocent?

Am I the only one that's a little puzzled as to why they were performing a raid on a guy who supposedly committed armed robbery of a couple PS3s?? I know its armed robbery...so that's a big deal.

I guess I'm just not to current on police procedure these days.

^i think there was a picture of the guy on myspace or something where he had all kinds of guns around him, so they figured he was armed and dangerous.

probably means the money is going into a tax shelter to provide a scholarship and other funds to their surviving kid(s).
