Rockies just beat the Padres in 22 innings 2-1. Some great pitching in that game[Edited on April 18, 2008 at 4:30 AM. Reason : final]
4/18/2008 4:29:56 AM
It's got to suck to hold your opponent to 2 runs over 22 innings and still lose
4/18/2008 8:18:35 AM
winning run was unearned too
4/18/2008 8:43:30 AM
It's a few days old, but that's fitting for this story. Tejada lied about his age, he's two years older than he previously said.http://weblogs.baltimoresun.com/sports/ordine/blog/2008/04/interesting_tejada_says_he_lie.htmlAlbert Pujols, your thoughts?--Also old, but I'm playing catch-up: Longoria signed a contract for 6 years, 17.5m guaranteed. That's fucking insane.[Edited on April 21, 2008 at 10:29 PM. Reason : ]

Brewers Cardinals tied 8-8 in the top of the 12th

What the hell? Prince Fielder is a vegetarian now? I guess I missed this back in February, but damnit dude, try eating some meat and hit more than one bomb. Sorry if it was posted anywhere else I don't see a brewers thread.http://mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20080221&content_id=2383789&vkey=spt2008news&fext=.jsp&c_id=mil

Thanks, Prince...for reading my TWW post

Beckett has 8 strikeouts through 3 innings today
4/27/2008 2:35:56 PM
Don't know where to post this but Josh Hamilton is having a great start.. Rangers could probably use Volquez though...
4/27/2008 8:29:39 PM
Hamilton leads the majors in RBIs (him and Burrell)
4/28/2008 10:13:24 AM
how underrated is Dan Uggla
5/11/2008 3:35:45 PM
lol, i've never seen this in a major league game. the reds batted out of order today and got called for an automatic out...more proof dusty baker is the worst...
5/11/2008 8:09:17 PM
is it possible that Ned Yost is a worse manager than Dusty Baker? He still has Gagne as his closer
5/13/2008 10:50:14 PM
Ned Yost is Bobby Cox's heir apparent. I choose to ignore what you've posted. Also, Yost might make some dumb decisions, but no one is as laughably incapable as Baker.[Edited on May 13, 2008 at 10:55 PM. Reason : ]
5/13/2008 10:54:00 PM
im just sayingeric gagne
5/13/2008 10:54:54 PM
Gagne is bad, but that bullpen is full of over-the-hill journeymen and retreads; you really can't go right with any of them.[Edited on May 13, 2008 at 10:58 PM. Reason : ]
5/13/2008 10:57:02 PM
yeah they got kind of spoiled last year with cordero but why sign gagne in the first place
5/13/2008 11:00:18 PM
Yeah Turnbow or Mota wouldn't be much better....Torres possibly.
5/13/2008 11:00:20 PM
Torres pitched a couple scoreless innings tonight and Gagne relieved him in the 9thand Gagne actually got the save tonight, only allowed 1 H and 1 BB...but thats an amazing performance for Gagne
5/13/2008 11:01:11 PM
Yeah, but no one really has any experience as closer. Torres was a for a while in Pittsburgh a few years ago, but none have ever been the go-to guy. Gagne was pretty good in April, he's just having an awful May. Yost will let him ride it out for a few more weeks before giving him das boot.
5/13/2008 11:04:50 PM
would love to see hamilton sneak in the HR Derby. dude can mash.
5/13/2008 11:29:52 PM
Jorge Sosa is on the market... suitors line up.
5/13/2008 11:30:34 PM
5/13/2008 11:32:04 PM
The Rays extended Kazmir... good job by them locking up some young talent through their arbitration years... though Kazmir is VERY injury prone.
5/14/2008 9:06:50 PM
If everyone stays healthy...They would have a staff of Kazmir, Shields, Garza, Jackson and David Price for the next several yearsThat could seriously fuck with the Yankees/Sox dominance of that division
5/14/2008 9:15:58 PM
and then get Al Reyes back up to speed in the closer role...he was dominant the first half of last season before he got hurt
5/14/2008 10:02:12 PM
I said the next several years...Al Reyes is like 46[Edited on May 14, 2008 at 10:32 PM. Reason : also....Lance Berkman is possessed]
5/14/2008 10:31:08 PM
Interleague starts tonight with two vastly underachieving teams in the Subway series...I think the NL, for the first time since the late-90's, is better than the AL... but we'll see.

5/16/2008 6:23:14 PM
can't believe cincy let josh hamilton goKid has 10 homers after tonight, hitting .314 and a major league leading 49 RBI
5/17/2008 12:43:37 AM
hardly let him go when you consider who they got in return

idk man u know how people get when they do good and then want a bigger contract...
5/17/2008 1:00:54 AM
you are a fucking retard.
5/17/2008 1:02:24 AM
i respectfully disagree
5/17/2008 1:06:42 AM
You're an idiot. They got one of the best pitchers (so far) in the NL, and the have a surplus of OF talent. They were able to trade a guy who has played half of one season in 7 years since he's been drafted due to drugs and injuries, for a potential #1 or #2 in their rotation for as long as they choose to pay him. They'll get rid of Griffey or Dunn soon too, so be sure to look up some career numbers and tell them how dumb they are. They have one of the best rated prospects in the game coming up, and doing very well, so they don't need OF help. They need P help. It was a good move.
5/17/2008 1:25:30 AM
i wish griffey woulda stayed in seattle forever
5/17/2008 1:28:59 AM
So does Seattle, I'd say the got the short end of that stick. An oft-injured Griffey for Bret Tomko, Mike Cameron, Antonio Perez, and Jake Meyer. Tomko didn't even really pitch for Seattle, Cameron was solid but no Griff, Perez barely made it and I don't know that Meyer ever did.

Draft today at 2pm...
6/5/2008 12:43:56 PM
Looks like a pretty boring draft this year. I guess the Rays are taking Tim Beckham first. I usually really enjoy following it, it's the most interesting draft in sports, but this year is just too top heavy.
6/5/2008 1:26:03 PM
I think it's interesting with the signability issues of a lot of players and the option to actually be drafted but not sign and go [back] to school instead...There are a few really interesting guys. First, Gerrit Cole who is a H.S. pitcher with signability issues that will likely fall to the big market teams (Detroit, Mets or Yankees most are thinking). Second is Tanner Scheppers, a college pitcher out of Fresno State, who has an odd stress fracture in his shoulder. If he can get heatlhy and back to normal he is a Top 5 caliber pick who might fall to the mid-20s b/c of his shoulder.
6/5/2008 1:31:29 PM
I know I can probably research this online, but figurre I'd give it a shot here first...how is Brackman doing? Is he back pitching again? When can we see him in the majors (probably no answer to this one)?
6/5/2008 1:37:33 PM
Yeah, lots of signability issues, lots of Boras clients, and lots of first basemen. The Braves don't pick until the end of the first compensation round, so wake me up in six hours.--^ Still recovering from TJ surgery, should get healthy for the end of the minor league season. I assume he'll be playing fall/winter ball to make up for lost time though.[Edited on June 5, 2008 at 1:39 PM. Reason : ]

nice, lonnie chisenhall of morehead city just went 29th to the Indians. he's the guy who started at south carolina as a freshmen , got in trouble and went to pitt cc in greenville. i've seen him play a few times and he's the real damn deal. surprised he went this high though.
