I'm from Rocky Mount so I know all about Bill's and Parker's BBQ. Smithfields isn't as good, but it is still good BBQ. It is much better than the Cookout junk although I admit that I only tried Cookout BBQ once. You might as well be saying BMWs suck because they're not Ferraris. Bill's and Parker's are not chains. They are not rapidly expanding in the Wake County region. They will not be opening a Raleigh location anytime soon. Smithfields on the other hand has sites in Zebulon, Morrisville, Wake Forest, Garner, and Fuquay Varina. They have them everywhere surrounding Raleigh, but they haven't put one that is easily accessible for downtown/beltline centric folks. Their website says the one by Wake Tech is in Raleigh, but I'm not counting it and I'm surprised it has a Raleigh address.Dear Smithfields,Hook Raleigh up. There are tons of NCSU students who can man your kitchen and your registers. If you need a business case just sit outside of Bojangles on Western and watch the money flow.Signed,Skack[Edited on February 26, 2008 at 12:35 PM. Reason : l]

2/26/2008 1:00:06 PM
Let me get some. I'll use it the next time I cook a pork tenderloin in my slow cooker. I'm always looking for new stuff to try in there.
2/26/2008 2:50:02 PM
heeeeck yes you gotta like vinegar-y stuff though im going home probably pretty soon cause i left some stuff at the house that i need (from where i was rushing to get back the house after our trip)and i can get it....naturally i love some bbq
2/26/2008 2:52:46 PM
I'd love to try some. I'm a big fan of the more vinegar-y ones.
2/26/2008 2:56:45 PM
I love the vinegar-y stuff. What's the best way to chop it at home? When I use the slow cooker I just pull it because it's easier. I prefer chopped though.

The problem with Ole Time is that it just sucks
2/29/2008 11:35:12 AM
char grills bbq sucks actually.... as an employee there i think it brings down the name of bbq. come to the grill if you want a dank burger. the owner just raised the prices a little but you can still get a 1/2lb combo for 6.79 with cheese and tax. I guarantee you it will be better than McD's. what you need to do is find those coupons in the money saver papers or whatever... bogo 1/4lb juniors? thats a good deal

Update 3/12/2008: No new news!!!!
3/12/2008 2:17:32 PM
You're such a bastard, haha. It's also probably not that good an idea. They probably want to put that chain somewhere nicer than western blvd, somewhere that isn't so close to a crack den or five.
3/12/2008 2:20:15 PM
I was so heartbroken when they closed bbq and ribs company
