I think our defense is going to go a little crazy this weekend.

I would like to see Eli and Plax get back to business and make some things happen early and often. We need to get up on the Cowboys quick to force them into passing the ball. Barber laid waste to us last year and we can't allow that this year.

They are playing well...but I still feel like they are getting breaks. I think Philly and Pittsburgh were the better teams in those games.

Brandon Jacobs is a beast and their D-line gets constant pressure.

If Philly and Pitt were the better teams and the Giants still beat them...sounds like a #1 team to me.

After making the Pats go 18-1...how about the Giants going 18-1 themselves?

^^^ Not sure how you think Pittsburgh was the better team. Look at the stats like possession of the football, rushing yards, rushing per attempt, and my favorite the 4th quarter yards for Pittsburgh: 4.

And first qurter yards for Philly: 12 (although they did get a touchdown out of it, but that was just unlucky)

Interesting nugget. This weekend the #1 rushing team in the NFL NY Giants play the #1 rush defense in the NFL Baltimore Ravens.

Could be an interesting game. Keep in mind that Pittsburgh had the #2 rushing defense (#1 overall defense) and they kept us to around 80 yards, the first game all year under 100. I think Eli is going to need to work that secondary, and Plax needs to show the F* up.

It will all come down to time of possession. If the Giants can hang on to the ball for long periods of time and tire out the Ravens defense, then Earth, Wind, and Fire will have their way the entire 4th quarter. I'm expecting another close victory for the G-Men.

We're going to see how our secondary can really hold up against Kurt Warner and his nasty wideouts. We have got to get some damn pressure on the QB. No sacks in two weeks!

If we don't pressure Warner we will lose this game.

Pressure doesn't always create sacks. Even without sacks they did a great job of keeping pass in check against the Ravens. As long as they can get in Warner's face, then we should be seeing plenty of incompletes and hopefully some INTs as well.

Its very strange that former Giant quarterbacks are having such great seasons...Collins and Warner both on winning teams? I don't think I can handle that.

But Eli can.

I just started watching the online play-by-play at the end of the 3rd quarter so can someone explain to me why the Giants team passing total is higher than just Eli's numbers but it doesn't show anyone else attempting a pass?

Giants w/ Burress:
9-1 (.900)

Giants w/o Burress:
2-0 (1.000)

I'm ok with him being in jail.

I think we'll be alright because we've got:

Dude has been an absolute stud for us. May not have the circus catch-like ability that Plax has had in the past but the guy is a burner and makes plays and hangs on to the ball. I just don't like losing a guy that always had double coverage. With the way all our receivers and Kevin Boss have been stepping up though, its pretty much "pick your poison" with the Giants offense right now. I'm loving it.

I really wish ESPN would stop talking about Burress, the story is old already and it isn't going to effect the Giants whooping the Eagles and clinching the division in the process.

they are worse than foxnews. they did the same with the favre story, the vick story, briefly with charlie weiss and they still want to drag that one out.

i loved it when espn analysts would say things like "frankly, we're tired of hearing about brett favre". oh really?

Question for Giants fans...

If the Vikings need to beat us in order to make the playoffs but we already locked up homefield advantage...do we rest our players/not play them so hard or do we play a real game to make sure we don't have to see Peterson in the playoffs?

Coughlin doesn't rest players. See week 17 from last year.

Maybe if a dude has an injury and would normally play in a game that mattered then he would rest him, but other than that I don't think it would be a good idea to have our boys getting stale by not playing and then missing the next week on a bye.

Hixon blew it pretty big yesterday. Not to say that if he didn't drop that pass we would have won, but it would have blown the game wide open. Also shows that he can't be relied on when I thought he was a pretty clutch player. What a terrible drop.

Still won the East but really who cares? need to go out and win games and look better than we did yesterday, that was just awful.

Of all the teams to lose to, it ends up being the fucking Eagles and the fucking Cowboys for the Giants.

Damnit.

Pretty brutal loss, can't win if you can't put 6 on the board, though. For two weeks straight, we have looked like an absolute clusterfuck on offense, with our 1(!) TD coming in garbage time and our line is getting pushed around like it hasn't all season.

hopefully mckenzie is alright and jacobs will suit up this week against the panthers.

and for god's sake, for the second straight week hixon, put your mitts on the ball.

Can't believe we gotta play the Eagles. This is going to be a tough game gentlemen. Our offense needs to show up and score some points on these guys.
