^HAHA, this makes sense, you're the guy who apparently isn't observant when watching things. Makes sense you can't picture just how quickly our shitty fanbase would be over being preseason top 10 and not making the Final Four once.

I mean I get it, it's hard for people to see because we're so shitty that we'd just love to be relevant, but like I showed with the Herb example, realistically that shit only flies for so long. When you're use to sucking, being good seems great. When you're using to being good, being good doesn't seem like a big deal anymore.

Hell look at Doeren, it was, "we just want to make a bowl game", now it's, "oh 6 wins doesn't mean anything". Just like with Herb where it went from "please just make the tournament" to "making the tournament is fine but we should be making the Elite 8 and winning the ACC!"

Until Sean actually wins one, or at least makes the Final Four, then he's peaked and his ceiling is the Elite 8. If having top 5 talent and never finishing top 10 is acceptable, then that's fine. I just think eventually the fan base will become super complacent and frustrated.

I mean hell, look at how many UNC fans wanted Roy gone 2-3 years ago. It's all about expectations and how high you set them. If I'm an Arizona fan, I want to see some Final Fours and championship games in the new few years.

^^^ I too remember that we hired Doeren because of our lack of making bowl games and never getting 6 wins under O'Brien. This is precisely why Doeren was brought in.

People are going to be excited at the moment they win and in the moment they lose, it's human nature. To think that Arizona fans weren't upset when they lost to Wisconsin in back to back elite eights would be naive. But I bet come November they were excited for their bball season because they had success those 2 years.

Haha. Feel free to go read some of the Arizona message boards, their fans are getting annoyed with Sean. Not annoyed to the point of wanting him fired, but annoyed to the point they're starting to think he's peaked and that he'll never win a title.

Also, Jay Wright actually made a Final Four before last year and he has NEVER had the recruiting classes that Miller is putting together each season. Also, before this season Sean Miller was the 3rd highest paid coach and Jay Wright was 16th.

Fun-fact: 4 of the top 5 paid coaches have at least 1 national title. Miller is the 1 that does not.

But yeah, let's give him 15 more years, he's bound to win one by accident with all the talent he keeps amassing. All this adoration you guys have for Sean is going to turn to hate when he ends up coaching at UNC.

^^Im really not eager to be defending Miller, but he has won 30 games 5x with 2 different teams, made 4 elite 8's with 2 different teams, won multiple conf tourney and reg season chips with 2 diff teams.

NCAA tourney success is important, but it isn't like the NBA playoffs, there will always be upsets and/or unlucky teams, any maybe Miller was just outcoached in every loss, but it's weird to discount his long list of accomplishments.

Here's the other thing, you separate out being a "recruiter" vs being a "coach", but they are one and the same. Plenty of great xo coaches that sucks as coaches bc they can't recruit.

Lute Olson coached Arizona for 25 years. He only won 4 conference championships (despite wining the regular season 11 times!) Also took him until 1997 to win his only National Title.

So Arizona should be used to not winning championships.
