whats the deal with Juan Pierre? I drafted him late since he was 2nd in the majors in steals last year, but its looking like he might not even start...I have Cory Hart, Eric Byrnes, Delmon Young and Aaron Rowand...should I stick with Pierre for awhile and see how the season goes? Also I put Beckett on my DL spot and picked up Buehrle...think he'll have a good year or did he get all his good pitching out of the way last year so he could get that fat contract?

Buehrle might suck because the Sox were terrible last year so that meant less wins for him. He is usually pretty steady but doesn't get enough Ks for me.

Did anyone else not start Harden? Damn it he shut the Red Sox down...

i started harden, AND i snagged manny in the 4th round of my draft. he's looking like a steal right now, so hopefully with him, howard, and vlad, i'll dominate offensively

i played Lowell and got a combined 3/8 for .375 over the 2 days...solid although no runs or rbi's

i put beckett on the DL and picked up drew for the first game...scratched because of a batting practice injury...then for game 2 i picked up jack cust...i figured, hey he struck out 4 times yesterday, he is bound to get a hit or two today, but he didnt play

oh well, "Week 1" in yahoo leagues is actually 13 days long so it will also include the first full week

Cueto looks like he's going to get the loss tonight (its 2-1 in the 8th, he pitched 6.1 with 2 earned runs) but thats still a nice quality start...8 Ks, 2.84 era and 0.79 whip...hopefully he gets a no decision

^i think i'm gonna drop Lowell for Reynolds...i was considering it last night but i saw that he already has 3 errors on the year and my league counts errors...but he'd be A-Rod's backup and not an everyday starter so i'll probably do it...last year i picked up and dropped braun a couple times when david wright had the day off and somebody else ended up picking him up and keeping him obviously...i dont want to make that mistake again

i kind of like keppinger too since he is 3B/SS but i already have Carlos Guillen and Tejada who seems to be enjoying playing for Houston...Bill Hall is another 3B/OF option...he blasted a solo shot against Cueto tonight

sweet...Corey Patterson solo homer with 2 outs on Gagne to tie the Reds Brews game at 2-2 in the middle of the 9th...no decision for Cueto!

i'm not big on the adding and dropping things, but i guess it depends on your league. i prefer domination with a set lineup .

but i've used the same strategy with nfl leagues and the team defense, granted that's not 100+ games.

somebody in my (8 team mixed H2H) league dropped Trevor Hoffman...should I immediately grab him or are his shaky performances dating back to the end of last season the new norm due to his old age?

Last night I dropped Jeremy Accardo for BJ Ryan, and my other closers are Fran Cordero, Kevin Gregg and CJ Wilson...I also picked up Rafael Soriano to slip into my DL spot

What should I do? I know Hoffman is the all time leader in saves in MLB history but he's also in his 40s...might he be like a Joe Borowski or Todd Jones last year? (tons of saves, shitty ERA and WHIP)?

my team is pretty solid in the SB category... so i dropped michael bourn (still have upton, hanley, carlos gomez, crawford..) and added micah owings (faces the giants tomorrow night and possibly a 2nd start this week against the padres).

I added and dropped Owings a few times last year...he is a pretty good pitcher but another thing I like about him is he has a decent bat for a pitcher...iirc he hit a few homeruns last year...my league doesnt give credit if your pitcher bats and does something, but it certainly helps them get the W when they give themselves extra run support

plus, depite Arizona's loss to the Rockies yesterday (where the D-Backs still scored 5), the Diamondbacks have the bats on fire this year with Young, Byrnes, Reynolds, etc...Owings is worth holding onto for now
