1350 and i love Enders Game, Enders Shadow, Lord of the Rings, Da Vinci Code, Angels and Demons, etc.and I think i did poorly on the SAT, i still dont know why people say that is high. 250 points away from 1600, pff, maybe if i was 1450 or higher I would have been satisfied.[Edited on February 5, 2008 at 10:39 PM. ^ key word prove. I would guess that over 50% of dumb people that do poorly on it have a matching IQ and vice-versa. There's a chart out there somewhere for this.Edit, first post was ignorant.[Edited on February 5, 2008 at 10:51 PM. Reason : .]

"making something of themselves" != "intelligent"and i would hope that all "dumb people" (not that you can just self define those people anyway) do poorly on it, not just 50%.is that even what you were trying to say? either way, i'm glad you have such high standards.
2/5/2008 10:47:13 PM
and I know some dumb fucks who have read Vonnegut and Rand, too.

"Atlas Shrugged" is in exactly the right positionNot to talk shit to people who like it, they don't necessarily fit this description, buta lot of fans of the book are intelligent enough to understand Ayn Rand's philosophy, yet still stupid enough to swallow it wholeV changed back, dawg...on second thought it seemed like it was more of a parody sort of post...all good[Edited on February 5, 2008 at 10:56 PM. yup, here on TWW you see all the shit I would never write about in columns
2/5/2008 10:56:23 PM
oh hellyou're still writing columns?jesus. i remember when you came in and spoke to my class once. I believe the prof was Dr. Reavis. I could be wrong, though.
2/5/2008 10:57:46 PM
no, I graduated and haven't written since last May I remember that...it was Dr. Reavis...there was a really hot chick in the back row that I thought was Christin Liverance
2/5/2008 10:59:21 PM
I don't think Christin was in there with me.she's got a dude now, btw.however, there were some cuties in there (twas an English class)
2/5/2008 11:01:12 PM
it wasn't an engineering class if it had cuties.
2/5/2008 11:02:25 PM
I think that's why I never performed up to my full potential.too many womens. I've become a much better writer since graduating.
2/5/2008 11:04:42 PM
haha, interesting takeArthur Miller did write absolutely nothing while he was married to Marilyn Monroe
2/5/2008 11:06:31 PM
wait.Focus Arthur Miller??? he was married to Marilyn Monroe??
2/5/2008 11:07:30 PM

^^^I seem to recall she wasn't, cause I was going to compliment her on being the best stylist on Technician staff, but then I just had to tell the class...maybe she was there but just didn't want to be recognized
2/5/2008 11:12:22 PM
she hasn't responded via text yet.i really don't think she was in there, though. i've known her for quite a good bit.yeah, I know she wasn't...cause Dick used to always compare our Technician writings in class, and Jake and I would always compare pieces. If she were in there, we would've compared with her, too. HOWEVER, there was a girl in there, can't recall her name, but she had very similar features to those of Christin.[Edited on February 5, 2008 at 11:15 PM. Reason : ehasflha]
2/5/2008 11:14:39 PM
she was pretty quiet in the class
2/5/2008 11:15:05 PM
^^yeah, and then I was all ready to compliment that chick, and it wasn't Christin
2/5/2008 11:21:09 PM
I feel like I recall years ago you posting on here about how well she writes. I think it was after that fallout with her ex, or maybe just after one of her dating columns (which people incessantly shat upon for whatever reasons).
2/5/2008 11:23:45 PM
yeah, some ex bf of hers got pissed off at her Sexcapades column, and started some silly crusade to get it bannedI never understood that, Sexcapades was excellent

Myself and most of my friends got in the 1400s or higher...And we all read humor, which doesn't even show up as a genre on the list of books that make you dumb.Humor readers are generally successful people who tend to perform well in college. Proven fact.

1520 (800 verbal), and I've read and enjoyed books all over that spectrum. Probably my favorite of the ones listed though would be Catch 22, though I've never read any of the 4 books that placed higher on the list. (I do own Freakonomics but I haven't gotten to it yet, my "to read" stack is pretty tall.) I began Atlas Shrugged back in HS when I thought Ayn Rand was the best thing since sliced bread, after finishing The Fountainhead, but never got through it...damn thing just bored me after a while.
2/6/2008 9:19:29 AM
^^ I'm going to see a theater production of Catch 22 this weekendbut I only made a 700 on the SAT verbal... I was on drugs, howeverI scored a 630 on the GRE verbal[Edited on February 6, 2008 at 9:42 AM. Reason : -]
