id bet a bag of nickels dnl hit the gas when he was trying to hit the brake. cars just dont rev up for no reason, and if it did the brakes have a lot more horsepower than the engine.

yes, he deserves to have fucked up his car, and racked up some medical/insurance bills


but either way, whether he deserved it or not, it is good that no one was seriously hurt

I thought the same thing. apparently it's really common for people in certain cars to do this during an accident. I think I remember Jeep Cherokees being notorious for this because of the pedal arrangement.

when I worked in forensics we had two different cases where Lexus drivers mistook the gas pedal for the brakes and got in wrecks

The most important thing about cars, if something weird happens, don't hesitate to shift into neutral or better yet, kill the ignition to prevent an out of control situation.

Be prepared though, if you kill the ignition, you'll lose your power steering and power brakes.

i have seen cars break their throttle control, and have the engine get pushed to 100% before, through no fault of the driver...I think that's what happened in this case, too.

for all the haters: no one deserves to have any loses, medical bills, or otherwise - it was an unfortunate accident, and it should be treated as such. Keep Karma in mind when thinking how much others deserve their misfortune. Especially when it obviously wasn't intentional.

'deserve' doesn't have to come into play.

no one 'deserves' to lose their leg, because their chainsaw hits a rock, and buries it's bar into their leg.

no one 'deserves' to go to jail for murder, if their gun goes off accidentally, and hits their good friend in the face.

no one 'deserves' to get shot because they defend their home against a resolute criminal with nothing to lose.

no one 'deserves' the loss of their primary mode of transportation because they accidentally had a minor fender bender at 30mph, and mechanical failure cause the vehicle to careen uncontrollably into a couple trees.

I consider it 'hating' to say as much. sometimes it's just a fucking accident. a mistake. humans make them from time, to time.

This is nothing more than my opinion...but having this opinion allows me to have some very wonderful people as friends. people like Josh. My bandmates. People from tww.
