I started on this shit about 2.5 weeks ago. So far it seems to be working rather well. I've gone from smoking 1.5-2 packs a day down to maybe a 1/4 pack a day. A few times a have only smoked 2 cigs all damn day. Of course some days are a little tougher and I smoke a little more. But still. I've been smoking for like 18-20 years.Insurance covers it so it only cost me like 15bucks a month. Cheap compared to Camel Lights.

Haven't and do not intend to read the whole thread, but I used Chantix the last time I tried to quit. I know it sounds bad, since obviously I didn't succeed in quitting, but bear in mind that I quit the treatment about halfway through the normal recommended course of about three months. For the time that I actually took the stuff, it seemed to work quite well. My desire to smoke was down, and on the rare occasions that I did smoke, it did so little for me that my desire to try again was very little.Overall, I recommend it, but definitely follow your doctor's instructions and thereby avoid reverting.---I've heard Chantix has about a 50% success rate, which puts it well above most other stop-smoking treatments. It is non-nicotine based, but although insurance covered it when I got on it a few months ago, it still cost me about $100 a month out of pocket.[Edited on February 1, 2008 at 4:06 AM. Reason : OK so now I realize someone posted about it like two posts above me SO WHAT GO AHEAD AND SUE ME]

It's amazing that there are so many products out there to help you quit smoking. I mean with all that's out there, why would anyone give cigs a try for the first time? [Edited on February 1, 2008 at 5:44 AM. Reason : comma sutra]
