As much as I hate the way the democratic campaign has been thrust into the entertainment industry of our country, I still would not vote for any of the republicans. I don't like Hillary and frankly I hope Obama wipes the floor with her on Super Tuesday. However, if I saw myself faced with a vote of Clinton vs McCain, I'd definitely vote Clinton. Many of you will probably attempt to pwn me for saying this, but I think Obama Edwards would be a killer democratic ticket.

ANOTHER reason I would love Obama to take office:

Quote :
"Change the Culture of Secrecy: Obama will reverse President Bush's policy of secrecy. He will institute a National Declassification Center to make declassification secure but routine, efficient, and cost-effective.
"

from his platform on http://www.barackobama.com/issues/foreignpolicy/

I want to know what REALLY happened with 9-11 ; there is way too much that just doesn't make sense about the events that occurred on that day, and the days leading up to it.

Oh, and all the other lies the bush administration has been telling its constituents

Anybody who thinks that 9/11 was some inside job/government conspiracy is too fargone to be taken seriously, especially when the source of said conspiracy is from the same city that elected a crackhead mayor multiple times.

Obama giving military secrets to muslims is as plausible as a 9/11 conspiracy. And my Obama remark was squarely tongue in cheek.

Furthermore, the very notion that we have to elect a black man simply to get the rest of the world to respect us is laughable. Policies change perception, not the color of your skin, and to think otherwise is racist.

I respect your decision, as long as you know it's a victim of a fallacy of Logic. There's now way we could know if McCain would have done any better, and there's no way we could know if he'd do any better than Hillary.

You should stick to the actual issues and records here

Maybe they aren't a bunch of assholes, and it was just that piece of shit GWBush."Basically, I think him being elected will show the worldthat we REALLY didn't support what the last administration did (murder thousands of Arabs and assume we're dumb enough to believe it was because they are jealous of our FREEDOM)"

No offense to anyone, but all those who believe that electing an African American president would signal a new and better era in America to foreign countries, have you ever left the Americas (north and south)?

I know that in my travels with friends of African descent in other countries (especially Greece, Turkey, Norway, North Africa), we were not welcomed at all in many places.

I think that this (African American as president) should happen, but to think that this will be admired is ludicrous, especially in the middle east. Some of the most racist people I have ever come into contact with were true Arabians. The result would be Obama having to be stronger than anyone else from all the added scrutiny because of his skin color. Maybe he is the man for that job, but let's not fool ourselves into thinking that Americans are any more racist than the rest of the planet. In fact, we are far more evolved, in my opinion, in that manner than almost any other country.

^^ You should learn to think before you type.

When something as big as the presidency is up for grabs, the members of both parties worry, no matter how safe of an election it might be.

Honestly who cares if Clinton had some fun with interns. Good for him.

I want a job, strong economy, curbs on government spending, proper immigration policy, and healthcare costs to be fixed in a true capitalist (not-socialist) country. Government shouldn't offer healthcare to everyone as people need to get a job or shut up - if you can't afford health insurance for your fam then don't have one, I shouldn't have to pay for it because you didn't plan ahead. I think universal healthcare will be very very bad for our country which is why I'm not voting for a dem most likely. Canada has universal healthcare and its flopping very badly.

On the other hand, however, most of the repubs seem like douches. I support their economic policy to an extent, but I disagree strongly with their social issue stances. Women should be able to get abortions, stem cell research should be funded, religion should stay very well away from politics, gay civil unions should be federally recognized, etc.

So here is my personal evaluation of the candidates:

Yes, Clinton has a bitchy personality (which I don't care about) and she supports universal healthcare (very bad), but I like her foreign policy (very good for us right now).

Obama seems very charismatic, but doesn't have much experience or record so its hard to tell what he will do. He says he supports universal healthcare (very bad). My impression is that he is making some significant promises to the people which I doubt he will be able to keep. He seems like a strong foreign policy candidate just from observation, but thats just my opinion.

Huckabee is a straight-up douche (another george bush christian wanna-be retard). Very liberal fiscally, very conservative socially - the exact opposite of what I want.

Paul - I actually agree on some issues but disagree with some - I like his stance on tax reform, gay marriage (or marriage in general), and Iraq war. Not so much with education though. Seems pretty close to socially liberal and fiscally conservative but some of his ideas seem a little too conservative (like the gold standard, etc.)

Romney - I like his thoughts on energy reform, not so much with Iraq war or social issues. He does seem like a great candidate from his past business experience, so maybe.

I'm tired of typing now goodbye.

^^^^ hey look, he quoted a hypothetical in one of my posts and took it out of context.

Seriously, if that's how you "argue" you aren't worth my time.

Comment on my posts as a whole, then we'll get somewhere - and hypotheticals are NEVER supposed to be construed as main points.

This is why I am questioning your reading comprehension - I just don't think you know what you're doing at all with this whole "argument" thing.

You obviously think your hypothetical is true, otherwise you wouldn't have typed it.

Since you refuse to explain its relevence, I can only conclude that you want to elect Obama for reasons other than policy. At least be honest about it.

I just think it's funny that you think the only way to rise above racist perceptions is to be racist.

Even if this statement made any sense, it wouldn't be relevant. Maybe you should learn what a hypothetical's purpose is when making a point, or constructing an argument.

It has nothing to do with indonesia - and everything about his platform. Compare these ideals with Clintons and any running Republican's. They don't even come close to helping as much as Barack would
