She wasn't abused. Her single mother taught her from a very young age that sex was just something women "put up with" to keep their husbands happy. She's married now. She "puts up with it." Her husband isn't particularly fond of the fact that she doesn't enjoy herself.

Also something you can effectively "work through", seeing as how many adults come to realize many of the things they were taught by their parents are flawed at best, or just flat-out wrong.

Having spent 9 years in counseling as a kid , doing couple's counseling now with my bf, and having gone from frigid, insecure, and unhappy to the complete opposite with a wonderful man, I know a thing or two about everything I've posted in this thread

maybe she has issues because she realizes she used to be a whore.

on a side note...they should just become swingers

Just to get my position straight, the woman in the article is a whore, yes, because she is thinking and planning on cheating on her husband and running off and having sex again once she leaves him. Let's get that down on the intarweb right now.
I'm arguing against the intrinsic idea that sex is supposed to be this awesome thing for everyone.
Quote :
"Wait, are you implying it is intrinsically better to not want sex?"

No, it's not better to not want sex, you got me on that one. The opposing gender stereotype is that men ONLY want sex, and that's the stereotype that pisses me off and I would like to think better of.
However, realize that when I'm talking about people with abuse history and/or past bad sexual experiences, I am referring to men, also. Honestly, I know more men than women that have had bad experiences and don't enjoy sex currently.
For the guys that don't get the physical problems, look up online a condition called "Vaginismus." It's a condition that has both psychological and physical components and makes women have problems having sex, usually linked to past abuse or sexual assault.

I agree, but it may never happen. I was just pointing out that not everybody enjoys sex for varying reasons.

I went to a swinger couple's wedding once. It was weird. She was marrying her fiance, but her boyfriend was in the crowd watching. The groom's girlfriend elected not to show up.

He might be able to get alimony if her book is doing well. I'd say he has plenty of reason to divorce her since she aired all their dirty laundry for the world to see.
1. Get rid of crazy wife.
2. Make her pay you.
3....
4. Profit!

^ Wat what? They are married, but they also have boyfriend's and girlfriend's. I could never do it, but they seem happy that way.

now, i thought the idea behind swingers was that you switched off w/ other couples, not just having a mistress on the side.

^^ I think that is the most common way, but not with this couple. They actually have steady relationships on the side. They claim that their marriage is a lifetime bond that transcends all other relationships.

More commonly known as polyamory

"swinging" has a casual connotation.

^^ Good call. I used the term swinger because that's how they refer to themselves. They may have other, more casual relationships as well.

Ugh, if my wife decided we were becoming celibate, I'd have to cheat or leave her. If she never liked sex and I married her, fine. But thats VERY rare. Most couples start off banging all the time and as you get older, its less frequent. Even after 5 years we still have sex a couple times a week usually.

It won't matter after the singularity, you'll be able to have sex with your brain in a computer then.

If sex is important to you, find a spouse with whom you have a good sexual chemistry, who desires you and recognizes you as the best ever. I know I love sex, and thank God I found a wife who likes it as much as I do. Hell, we got it on yesterday morning before breakfast. I give her at least 1 orgasm a week, and she reports having had 3 in her whole life before she met me, so she'll probably keep coming back for more.

I'll probably stop having sex with my wife after 7-8 years of marriage

I just can't fathom I'll be able to get excited for a vagina that I've already been in upwards of a thousand times

I wonder when healthy people generally stop having sex. Old people sex is gross but I know a few do it.

This is actually one of the reasons that men can file for divorce and not get completely fucked over by the courts. It actually, if I'm not misremembering, may be grounds for legal annulment.

i can see the abuse thing, although i would think that if a girl got to trust someone enough she could eventually work through that and enjoy sex, but what is the physical condition, no natural lube or something?

some women are anorgasmic

but the female orgasm is more than just stimulation, direct or otherwise.

she has to "let go" for lack of a better term in order to relax enough to actually orgasm

you can take her to the edge physically, and sometimes it just wont happen, it will feel good, but there wont be any fireworks.

causes of this:
past abuse/emotional trauma
medications
inhibitions

mistrust of her partner -- its hard to have an orgasm with someone you really care about if you even suspect they might break your heart. oxytocin is a powerful hormone released during orgasm.

but if a girl is really into you and you spazz out/act like an unreliable player flake, and make her start second guessing shit

chances are the next time you do the deed, she is either not having one, or has learned to fake it really well.

some women just cant separate sex and emotions.

but god bless the ones who can..........the world is their orgasmic oyster

Relationships are about making your partner happy, not just your partner making you happy. She must missed that somewhere along the way.
