So leaning towards Spamalot right now....would it be funny even if you don't know much about the background of the play?
3/12/2008 12:58:03 PM
yes. although I admit that it would be helpful to be a fan of monty python type humor.
3/12/2008 1:31:36 PM
Zumanity = Dont waste your time. If you've never seen the blue man group perform anywhere I would suggest that. If you wanna add another show while there check out those 1/2 ticket price places. mega cheap. seats are crappy but when you're buying a ticket 70% off who cares.
3/12/2008 5:40:05 PM
Saw spamalot on broadway and fricking loved it. I wasn't even a big Monty Python fan going in, either.

Just booked my hotel for my 2nd trip to Vegas in May...can't wait. Anybody know when that thing they are building next to Bellagio is going to be completed?
3/12/2008 6:33:34 PM
was there this weekend and there is still a pretty good ways to go. I would assume early next year sometime. (City Center is the name of the project)

Where do you guys go to get the best trip prices to Vegas? I found direct flights out of RDU on southwest and two nights at harrahs in late august for $277/person.
6/22/2009 7:32:05 PM
Wait, a round-trip flight plus two nights for $277? How did you find that? My flight from Orlando is $330 and it's the cheapest I've found in months.Btw, has anyone seen "O"? Is it worth seeing? And can I get hitched for fun and have it anulled there?
6/22/2009 8:38:35 PM
Second time I went I got a pretty good deal off fatwallet.com$69 a night for 4 nights and a $30 meal comp which we ended up getting every day

I stayed at Planet Hollywood back in November. Extremely nice hotel (as are most on the strip) with a very trendy, young-adult atmosphere on the casino floor. After around 8 or 9pm, they start playing club music, which i thought was kinda neat since the music is usually turned down in those places. It helped drown out all the other usual casino noises. Since you're a girl you might not care about this, but they had this area in the casino called the "pleasure pit" where all the dealers are girls in lingerie. Unique idea, but a good way to get distracted from a craps game haha. Never went to the O show or got married there though. Take some water with you haha
6/23/2009 5:31:19 AM
Thought o was good but a little pricey. Liked blue man group better. Penn and teller were good too.
6/23/2009 8:44:46 AM
im supposed to be going labor day weekend for bachelor party but i think im going to bail
6/23/2009 9:04:49 AM
Why? That's lame.
6/23/2009 9:47:53 AM
check this blog for deals http://casinotripreports.com/vegas/

Southwest has the only non-stop RDU-LAS flights.and if you book far enough in advance, they are cheap.I got marred in LV in October. Had my entire wedding party at the Planet Hollywood. Love that hotel. Will stay there whenever I return to LV (which hopefully will be sometime in the next year or so)
6/23/2009 10:15:31 AM
If you book w/ Southwest Vacations, use promo code SUBWAY to save $75and if you book by 6/29/09, you get 2 free tickets to either Cirque du Soleil or The Lion King w/ every reservation

Yeah, went to Vegas one Christmas. Piece of cake.
6/23/2009 5:03:50 PM
not to mention how much more expensive things are going to beanyone ever been to vegas during Labor Day?
6/23/2009 5:06:09 PM
Glad to hear that Planet Hollywood is awesome. That's where we're staying as I get really sweet rates there thanks to my job. The Pleasure Pit sounds like my kind of place.Any way to get around the cover charges at nightclubs? Other than blowing the bouncer?
6/23/2009 6:10:13 PM
wow gunzz is a party pooperyeah itll be a little more crowded than usual but big dealits a bachelor party in sin city...have fun at a backyard cookout with your aunt and uncle[Edited on June 23, 2009 at 7:11 PM. Reason : x]
6/23/2009 7:09:35 PM
i went to vegas last year for labor day and it was pretty dead, no problems at all with crowds... i was there two weeks ago and it wasn't dead but the airport wasn't busy. I flew in christmas day one time and that was no problem either. Ive been for the super bowl twice and that wasnt bad either.Vegas believe it or not is designed to handle large amounts of people, it will be fine.
6/23/2009 9:25:13 PM
we're planning on going in Mid August and a couple weeks ago the cheapest round trip flight was down to about $220 with fees and now it's up to about $350 with fees. I'm kicking myself for not jumping on it a couple weeks ago.
6/23/2009 10:13:21 PM
thanks rallydurham...thats what i was looking for. ive only been to Vegas once and it was in June so i was looking for personal experience during that weekend rather than some stupid, dickish response from a poser like slave famous.do you remember if the table prices were higher than normal?
6/24/2009 9:11:49 AM
Do you mean the price of reserving a table in a nightclub or the minimum béts at table games? Nightclubs I couldn't answer... Table games are pretty relative to where you are playing though there are plenty of low limits now with the economy struggling. Ill second planet hollywood that may be my fav casino there now. very modern hot guests, dealers, and waitresses. Poker room in the middle of the floor and good music and vibe there
6/24/2009 10:53:56 AM
Anyone know how the poker room is at Caesar's Palace? Just won a trip there and figuring out where I'm going to be playing.
6/24/2009 10:59:01 AM
actually both would good RD since this is a bachelor party but i will be there for the gambling. i never got around to playing at Planet Hollywood.
6/24/2009 11:10:54 AM
If you want cheap table prices on the strip, hit up Casino Royale. Its next to Harrah's. It has a Denny's attached to it.I believe it has the cheapest craps tables on the strip ($3 tables)
6/24/2009 11:12:48 AM
Has anyone gone hiking at one of the surrounding national parks? If so, any recommendations/advice?
6/24/2009 11:18:06 AM
i would so be down for that. Nevada has some insane hiking and camping
6/24/2009 12:11:21 PM
Fuck that. I don't go to Vegas to hike.
6/24/2009 12:22:40 PM
booya
6/24/2009 1:40:05 PM
Hiking will be a nice contrast to the evenings of clubbing, gambling and binge drinking. The parks in that area look SOOO beautiful. I'd love to check out Red Rock Canyon. Of course, July probably isn't an ideal month for my first hike in the desert. Though I hear Mount Charleston is a good 30 degrees cooler than LV during the summer months. What are the best night clubs for young 20-somethings who want debauchery and eye candy?

^ That looks awesome. Though I think I'd see "O" before that ... will have to check with my traveling party.Watched The Hangover yesterday. Where's Mike Tyson's house? I suddenly have an urge to party with him. What do I need to pack for this trip? It will be SUPER hot, I'm sure, so sundresses and bikinis are a no-brainer. What else?
7/6/2009 8:13:19 AM
so i see it's supposed to be 107 degrees today out there, but how does that compare with temperature here? i've never been in a desert climate in the summer, but i imagine 107 and dry is probably like 90 and humid
7/6/2009 8:27:39 AM
I think I'd wear about the same thing for a 90-degree day as I would for a 107-degree day. Basically, as little as possible without getting arrested. But I want proper attire for clubs and casinos as well, because I doubt I can just walk around in a bikini.
7/6/2009 8:33:52 AM
you need to pack a really good pair of walking shoesdon't try and walk down the strip in heels...you will KILL your feet. Sure the strip is only a mile and a half long but it will take you a couple hours to walk it.there is no humidity out there so you really don't sweat...you will dehydrate yourself very quickly though and the misters they have outside some hotels are a joke...the water evaporates before it even reaches you [Edited on July 6, 2009 at 3:36 PM. Just got back from there and I would recommend seeing Terry Fator. I didn't know who he was, but multiple people said he was the best show in town, so we saw him and he did put on a great show. Easily the best show for the money. We stayed just off the strip at Staybridge Suites & it was a great hotel. Convenient to everything.[Edited on July 6, 2009 at 5:53 PM. Reason : ]
7/6/2009 5:51:39 PM
how much were your tickets to see him? best i saw were over $100of course, i'd probably just do time share tours to get free ones
7/6/2009 6:17:52 PM
^NO NO NO NO do not do time share tours!waste of time! You waste basically an entire day in Vegas. if anybody walks up to you with a clipboard and asks you if you are married or over 21, say no and walk on.
7/6/2009 7:38:40 PM
an entire day, really? i just figured they were all a couple of hours tops
7/6/2009 7:56:04 PM
meh, did the time share tour thing when we went a few years ago. Took about three hours one morning, was worth it considering we were in school and couldn't afford the trip otherwise (or the time share, but they didn't have to know that).
7/6/2009 9:05:26 PM
^^^^I got pretty good seats for about 90 (100 after fees). I found a discount code online. If you search, you can probably find active ones online. The Venetian was also doing that for Blue Man Group (I didn't see them).
7/6/2009 10:25:41 PM
I haven't looked it up yet but I know for a fact the strip is much further than a mile and a half just from having walked it 30 times or so. If I had to guess I'd say from mandalay to stratosphere is about 5 miles

The Las Vegas Strip is an approximately 3.8 miIn the strictest sense, "the Strip" refers only to Las Vegas Boulevard, roughly between Sahara Avenue and Russell Road, a distance of 4.1 miles (6.6 km).http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Las_Vegas_Strip
