There's one thing good that has come from the WBC: the Patriot Guard Riders. They're veterans all across the country who volunteer to use their motorcycles and walls of American flags to protect the funerals of fallen service men and women from the WBC and similar groups.

these are the same people coming on saturday to jacksonville, nc to protest the military. They hold up signs saying "Thank God for dead soldiers" and "God hates America".

The commandant of the USMC has ordered all marines not to attend the protest. The honorable thing is that many marines I've talked to have the attitude that they have fought and currently fight for the freedom to allow people to say these things freely.
