1/11/2008 10:49:02 AM
All Star weekend in Vegas was pretty ghetto. Am I right?
1/11/2008 10:49:57 AM
in 2nd grade, my best friend was a black guy who was from the ghetto in charlotte.
1/11/2008 10:50:46 AM
I have black friends
1/11/2008 10:51:12 AM
did he let you set a pick for him?
1/11/2008 10:51:17 AM

1/11/2008 10:53:31 AM
the bill simmons article last year about the all-star weekend was hilarious. i think he referred to it as "black people's superbowl"
1/11/2008 10:53:53 AM
did you say "RASHEED WALLACE" when you hit the J? lol

1/11/2008 10:54:49 AM
noI wouldn'tbecause it's hard enough for me to like basketball^ I'm sure it'll be there soon, they try to get every even possible down there now[Edited on January 11, 2008 at 10:55 AM. Reason : d]
1/11/2008 10:55:05 AM
nah, i pretty much drop following all my favorite college players once they hit the draft. i start finding new favorite players to fill that red jersey
1/11/2008 10:56:10 AM
i would always yell out, hot damn. id sometimes yell out, boom shakalaka
1/11/2008 10:56:19 AM
As twist said earlier, if you don't like basketball in generaland only force yourself to tolerate it to support NC State's teamthats one thingits the people who love college ball and hate the pro gamewho I'm targeting
1/11/2008 10:57:11 AM
i dont even like state football. i just like to get drunk at the tailgates. and sometimes go skiing the night before a tailgate. well, i use to anyways.

People who hate the NBA and like rap musicthey've got their shit together
1/11/2008 11:01:31 AM
I'll watch the Cavs from time to time, but my god it's painful. whatever happened to the good ol days of Mark Price, Larry Nance and Brad Daugherty
1/11/2008 11:03:22 AM
they all got old and either retired or took their black redneck ass into the NASCAR announcers booth]
1/11/2008 11:08:24 AM
I was an NBA fanatic back in the day. Now, not so much
1/11/2008 11:09:34 AM
I always laugh at the people who say they enjoy the "college style of play" more than the NBA. What? You enjoy shitty quality basketball? Retarded officiating where if you fall down and have a Duke or UNC on your jersey you get the call? It's one thing if the people like the atmosphere or would rather root for something they have a definite connection to... that is understandable. But the "style of play" argument is just hilarious...
1/11/2008 11:11:36 AM
I'll go to a bobcats game every once in a while. . but i'd never pay full price to see them lose.
1/11/2008 11:12:00 AM
^^yeah i've been to over half of the bobcats home games this year and the atmosphere definitely isnt like a college atmosphere...thats a legitimate gripe...but if i went to 41 bobcats games and the intensity was like tomorrow's game versus UNC every single game, i'd have a heart attack before the season ended[Edited on January 11, 2008 at 11:12 AM. Reason : ^^]
1/11/2008 11:12:39 AM
i just like the fact that in college the players try and compete to make the most out of the 4 years they have with that program. a program that most, i know not all, gain a definitive connection to.in the pros, if it doesnt work out in 2 or 3 year..oh well fuck it, i'll just slack off till they trade my ass. its just hard to get behind that.
1/11/2008 11:14:44 AM
I think the point people are trying to make isNBA ballas keep it real
1/11/2008 11:16:06 AM
1/11/2008 11:16:49 AM
1/11/2008 11:19:45 AM
yeah 48 minutes to 40 minutes means 20% more time to score in the nba = higher scores24 second shot clock versus 35 second shot clock means more shots per minute = higher scoresnot being able to have your center stand under the basket on defense the entire game and force him to have more skills than george muresahn = more chances for inside (non transition) baskets = higher scores
1/11/2008 11:32:28 AM
Also the longer 3 point line helps higher scoresIt makes 3's harder, but spaces the floor the give much bigger lanes for driving players pick and roll-type playsIn college, the middle gets too clogged because no one is more than 20 feet from the basketIt takes the flow out of the game and creates scores in the 40s and 50s
1/11/2008 11:35:46 AM
Practice?!!!!
1/11/2008 11:35:55 AM
We talkin bout goin to class man...not playin versus UNC man, we're talkin bout goin to class?Boosters?!!!!!]
1/11/2008 11:36:37 AM
yeh, i mean its one thing to say i prefer college games live due to the tie to your school or the better atmospherebut to say the actual on-the-court performance in college is better than that in the nba only shows the persons basketball ignorancethat said, the nba needs to take a page from the ncaa & cut down their playoffs....there is ZERO need for a best of 7 opening round, or second round for that matter
1/11/2008 11:36:58 AM
i think the 7 game series could be a lot better if they simply aired them earlier...i remember playoff basketball back in the day was often on sunday afternoons...now a Denver Lakers game might start at 10:30 eastern
