The gap is narrowing but Obama is running out of real estate.

I'll feel pretty confident if Hillary maintains a 2-3% lead with 50% reporting

Obama just traded at even money again. Christ.... from 70% to 50% in 20 minutes this is crazy

People arent taking big positions... no one is sure where this is headed

** Now Obama is trading as the 60% favorite.... making my stomach turn

Obama trades as a 2:1 favorite at 9:31

Heavy volume at 9:34 pushes Clinton back to just shy of even money.

9:37 Clinton trades at 60%. I have NEVER seen anythign like this in the political markets. Back and forth with conviction.

McCain didn't even hold MY attention through his entire speech.

Thankfully he usually does a lot better (though he's no Obama, Reagon, or JFK)

"Edwards doesn't stand a chance in SC."

Born there. Still lives in one the Carolinas. Won there last time. Has strong infrastructure in the area, between his connections there & having his campaign HQ here in NC, to do a lot of last minute work.

Also while Obama & Hillary will have to battle strongly for 1st in Nevada which comes next, Edwards can shift his attention starting tomorrow towards SC more so than the other two.

With each state so far the Edwards campaign seems to try to raise someone online funds starting a few days ahead of the primary for that state, but I'm already getting a few South Carolina one's and haven't heard a thing there about NV.

I think he does have a strong chance at the last campaign state before Super Tuesday, and that momentum I think gives him a pretty strong chance of getting into the white house, atleast as VP, especially if Obama is the overall winner rather than Hillary.

Also if Hillary wins tonight, that keeps either Obama or Hillary from being as strong as if one was a consistent winner.

It's great news that we've added 50 new people to our South Carolina operation. It shows, yet again, that John has considerable momentum as he moves toward the next round of early contests.

It also means we need to work quickly to ensure our folks on the ground have all the resources they need so we can capture this momentum and stay on the road to winning the nomination!

^ dude he has no shot. Be real.

Obama is trading around 80-85% to win and Hillary is about 15-20%

Edwards isn't even trading at 1% (SC numbers)

Overall he's trading around 1% to win the Dem nomination

is a NH win for Hillary really that big? wouldn't a senator from NY have better shots at this traditionally more conservative state?

I think Hillary will win out over Barack since she has steadily been holding a 2% lead.

What about that McCain speech?

At one point I felt the crowd was chanting "John McClain John McClain!"

I mean its pretty damn big because Obama was predicted to win by double digits by everyone today.

This completely reverses the momentum and makes this race a pure dogfight from here on out.

Hopefully they both burn through their cash so McCain can take the election

10 PM Hillary is trading around 66% to win

10:04 PM Hillary trades at 80% to win. Unbelievable. Traded at 30% to win as recently as 9:30 PM

It's good to see Huckabee fail so miserably in NH. I'd like to see Obama win NH simply because I think Hilary is the worst possible option for Pres. of all candidates on either side.

I think you can be right if you spin it from the Clinton camp being the "comeback kids". They put the brakes on the Obama train today and now they can stage a "comeback" against the big dog. She has successfully set the bar low with her media outputs and let everyone eat crow it looks like.

Spin it from Obama's camp and you're still the out of no where candidate who almost stole a primary from Clinton's backyard. But they have to be careful not to get so far ahead of themselves with listening to the polls. I mean if he gets beat again when he was the favorite, he's in trouble.

But it will be a dogfight from here on out on the Democratic side between Clinton-Obama.

McCain-Romney will be just as bad as they move into the bible belt and Super tuesday.

Romney looks dead in the water.

Giuliani is still running 2nd and Huckabee is the darkhorse in third. He could gain more momentum but as of now McCain is gaining momentum as the clear cut Repub favorite.

Hillary trading close to 90% for NH primary. This thing could be called now really but the media is going to let it hang for the ratings.

How is Rudy still in this as of today? Speculating futures yes, he can win Florida and other big states, probably NY.

But Romney isn't dead as long as the media keeps covering him as the darling to the boring McCain. I forgot about Huckabee though. Ha! Seriously GOP primary, I can't keep up.

and just as an aside, I hate HATE the mainstream media who get to spin all the topics.

they help give shitty non-representing states of Iowa and NH more weight than they should. Seriously, who cares who wins NH? How do they represent me in Mississippi?

they kill candidates because they didn't live up to their media polls.
they canonize candidates because they are witty and speak to them on their programs.

i don't care who we here are voting for, because I trust mainly everyone that blogs/posts knows more than the average person who watches the MSM for their information. but thats why I can't stand them. b/c they still have so much weight in people's lives when all they do is promote old silly stupid politics

Kucinich is as much a real candidate as you or I. He doesn't even have enough support to register as a blip on the radar.

My hope is that Ron Paul is able to garner enough support that the Republican party actually adopts some portion of his platform and drags itself away from the right wing christian nut jobs currently influencing it so much.

I'd much prefer the choice between a moderate dem and a moderate pub than seeing the country choose between Clinton and Huckabee.

"the boring McCain"

hahaha

i know what you're saying after his speech tonight, but he is the least boring person in the race by MILES.

when he graduated from the naval academy, he arrived at flight school, bought a corvette, and started dating a well known local, umm, exotic dancer

pretty sure he crashed an airplane in flight school, got blown up by a stray Zuni rocket on the deck of the Forrestal when he got to Vietnam, got shot down over Vietnam after that, had bones broken, got bayonetted, and taken prisoner...he spent 5+ years in the Hanoi Hilton, including 2 in solitary confinement, enduring torture, and refusing early release unless they released all of his fellow prisoners with him.

he came back, recovered, and went back to flying, commanding the largest squadron in the Navy and ending up as a liason to Congress.

he was initially married to a model...they got divorced and he remarried young, hot, and rich. he has sired 7 children over FOUR DECADES.

then he ended up as a Congressman and a Senator, and has butted heads with half the people in Washington along the way. He is more of a badass than everyone else in the race combined.

Corporations create jobs.

Washed up losers are a drain on society.

Fuck anyone who doesn't purchase health insurance.

Edwards doesn't even believe the garbage he's spewing. If he was a real man he'd be helping his wife right now instead of putting his ego/personal goals ahead of her life.

I didnt so much mean boring, as I did old. However that may be a good thing for him since I can see republicans voting for him this time since they missed the chance in 2000 and they know his record in Washington.

I mean McCain has staged one hell of a real comeback since shifting advisors months back.

And why does it feel Clinton winning NH is bigger than McCain? Its not like Democrats win it in november.

Yup, there's very little excuse for not having health insurance. Frankly, it's not that expensive. If people would fix their priorities it wouldn't be such a problem. I'm curious as to what the overlap is between those without health insurance and those watching Edwards talk about it on cable TV.
