with the lack of FA o-linemen this year, if they let adams walk, they'll probably have to use a 1st or 2nd rd pick to address that
1/3/2008 2:14:46 PM
1/3/2008 2:24:32 PM
^^ that may be true however the Cowboys drafted 2 OT last year Doug Free from Illinois and James Marten of BC in the middle rounds they have also been developing Pat McQuistain for a couple years. If any of these 3 have proved anything in practice this year, there may be no need to go OT in the draft.
1/3/2008 2:45:03 PM
^^ a lot of draft "experts" have them picking rice from rutgers
1/3/2008 3:06:07 PM
Rice isn't gonna do shit in the pros
1/3/2008 3:09:48 PM
i agree
1/3/2008 3:16:28 PM
stewart and charles may end up being the best two rb's in this draft

when i get some time this weekend (while playing in poker tournaments online) I'll do a "what I would do if i was that team" mock draft[Edited on January 3, 2008 at 3:50 PM. Reason : .]
1/3/2008 3:50:27 PM
other than QBs (all of whose stock I think is VERY sketchy) who will be the slider?
1/3/2008 4:39:25 PM
i dont see anyone sliding a lot at this point unless they have a horrible combine or get injured or get arrested
1/3/2008 4:48:11 PM
Brennan will slide I think, based on the fact that early this season I heard some sports knowledgable people talking about him being a top 10 pick. I think he is a 2nd round pick.As far as QB's go I think Ainge(sp?) might jump up in the combine. Big guy, great arm, didn't get much credit this year but had some games he really played solid.
1/3/2008 10:16:38 PM
^Jaybee alias ???? ha just messin

I read a report on one site that suggested that Jerry Jones is in love with McFadden and is going to try and move up to get him. So I think you'll see a big-time trade for them to move up to #1 since I have a feeling Parcells will want to move out of that pick and get a bunch of picks.I could see 1-2 decent player(s) and their 2 #1's to move up and select McFadden #1 overall.Maybe Miami can turn this into the Manning-Rivers trade and turn their franchise around, haha.
1/5/2008 11:09:28 AM
And wipe Manningham off of all of the lists, latest report is he's staying for his senior year to finish up his degree.

If KC drafts McFadden I'll go and kill Carl Peterson myself. The Chiefs need to rebuild the O-line that they inexplicably allowed to age and age and age with no replacements waiting in the wing, they need to improve the defense, and they need to look for a long term fix at QB. The Chiefs have not even attempted to draft and develop a QB since Todd Blackledge in 1984. IMO, the perfect move for them would be to drop down a couple of spots and take Brian Brohm or stay where they are and hope Jake Long falls to them. Hell, I wouldn't mind a sign and trade with McFadden for either Brohm or more picks. Ultimately I don't think another first round RB pick is in KC's best interest.
1/6/2008 12:43:12 AM
NFL doesn't do sign and trade....this is because any signing bonus would count against the original team's salary cap. That being said a team drafting a player holds that player's rights until the next draft. They can be traded without being signed to a contract ala P.Riv - Eli

Post-national championship... Whose stock has risen/fallen?Ive heard alot saying Dorsey's stock will go up. Makes sense to me, but, being an LSU fan I feel like I may be biased. Will larionitus (sp?) from Ohio state's drop?[Edited on January 9, 2008 at 11:24 AM. Reason : edit]
1/9/2008 11:23:18 AM
Slaton's injury cause him to drop maybe? He might stick around anyway.I really liked what I saw in Aqib Talib, the corner from Kansas, he would be good for Dallas. Or Antione Cason, the corner/returner from Arizona. Dallas has never had a good kick returner it seems since Hayes. Hell maybe they will pick a 1st round CB and take Blackman in the 7th round or something.
1/9/2008 12:01:44 PM
I think the Dolphins will try to trade their pick to get some players and/or additional picks. If not, look for them to take defesne, probably Dorsey.
1/9/2008 12:24:32 PM
Speaking of Blackman, how many State players do you see being drafted and which rounds?I think Demario is our only player that will definitely get drafted, and will go no later than the fourth round. After that I'm unsure. I really think Blackman will get drafted probably in one of the late rounds. Kick returners like him don't come along all that often. He's what 3rd all time in the ACC? Starting field position can make or break close games. I could see a team making a leap of faith and drafting Stone in the 8th round simply b/c of how good he looked at TE this year. I think Dunlap could be drafted late as well, but will more than likely have to go the FA route.
1/9/2008 12:29:50 PM
I doubt Laurenaitis' stock will drop much after the national championship game, he didnt have too bad of a game even though the Buckeyes as a whole did. But, its all speculation now because he hasnt declared for the draft yet, as far as I know
1/9/2008 12:30:52 PM
larionitus (sp?) I still think goes to the Pats. He just seems like the prototypical NE linebacker. The dolphins really need to trade down and get picks. The player who might have done the most for himself and is now coming out might be Ray Rice. He had the best bowl game out of any RB(although it was against a joke def). I could see his stock rising, he is durable, decent speed and an all around good rb.

Chris Johnson is the next Josh Cribbs/Devin Hester
1/9/2008 12:54:22 PM
Don't post Josh Cribbs in the same breath as Devin Hester you Browns Homer.
1/9/2008 1:28:58 PM
1/9/2008 1:45:30 PM
^^Quit crying. It's not my fault your team looked like garbage last weekend just like everyone knew they wouldDevin Hester averaged 21 yard per kick return with two touchdownsCribbs averaged 30 yards per kick return with 2 touchdownsHester averaged 15 yards per punt with 4 touchdownsCribbs averaged 13 yards with one touchdowndont' forget that Cribbs had like three touchdowns called back because of holdingWithout Cribbs, Browns lose two more games, easily[Edited on January 9, 2008 at 1:59 PM. laurinaitis staying for sr yrhttp://ohiostate.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=761724
1/14/2008 8:49:11 PM
same with Brian Robiske and Malcolm Jenkins off of the BuckeyesI dont know if Robiske would get drafted, but Jenkins was a first rounder[queue the Ohio State flaming]
1/14/2008 9:30:52 PM
Add Manningham, and Felix Jones to the list of players headed to the draft. Both should go fairly high.
1/14/2008 10:01:47 PM
Slaton too right?
1/14/2008 10:37:48 PM
yup
1/14/2008 10:40:41 PM
Wonder who NE will get now, I think everyone thought Laurinaitis was the perfect fit for them.
1/14/2008 11:48:33 PM
Dan Connor is/was a senior right? I could see the Pats going after him or Keith Rivers.if they are leaning toward a LB

it isn't a good sign for your job security when the people that supposidly work below you are getting paid as much. he'll be the head coach after next year, and in the middle of the next year if they get off to a slow start.

Darrell Blackman was selected for Joe DeFranco's NFL Combine Prep Program. He is a top trainer who has turned some pro prospects into animals. 1/21/2008 9:18:00 AM
Why would the Panthers draft another LB when they have holes everywhere? My pick would be Ryan Clady. Travelle Wharton was horrible last year. Also, there's no way Calais Campbell going that high.
1/21/2008 10:39:33 AM
I'd say our needs include LB, but you're right, we have bigger needs. But we always tend to go defense in the first-round under Fox. So if Kenny Phillips isn't available I could see us going LB or DE.But I'd love a stand-out OL, but sometimes you can find solid OL in later rounds so hopefully one way or another we'll end up with a solid OL.The Stewart to SD was kind of a surprise to me, I mean I know they are losing Turner but Sproles and Nene(sp) seem to be decent back-ups. But I did see where SD had the most projected cap-room for next year, so they'll likely make some moves in the off-season including OL(if Goff retires), S, and WR.
1/21/2008 11:01:07 AM
IMO, the Panthers' number 1 priority should be OT. I mean, we're down to the 4th QB last year for god's sake.
1/21/2008 11:55:29 AM
maybe we can trade david carr for a lb wr s ot 7th round pick new asst turf manager?
