Yea, I see a few topics on Packpride that say FYI on Brian Slay on the premium thread. Someone said Slay commited to us at about 9:30 p.m. on rivals. That information might be inaccurate, so I'll edit my post until there is more information.I might have some inaccurate information, and if that's the case I apologize. Currently his commitment is just a rumor.[Edited on March 1, 2008 at 10:48 PM. Reason : ]

PackPride (front page) reporting Slay's commitment now. That myspace page gave it away, of course, but thought I'd post that it was "official" now.
3/3/2008 10:20:59 AM
Since this is the only active football thread around right now, can some one post that pic,(I think it was taken on the field before the Carolina game), of TOB and the team doing the pledge of the allegience? They had their helmets off, and TOB in the front lookin like a general with his hand over his heart. I was trying to explain that picture and its awsomeness to some one else; but I cant find it.
3/3/2008 12:57:04 PM
nevermind, i found it.
3/3/2008 1:07:59 PM
Pretty sure they were playing the alma-mater in that pic
3/3/2008 1:22:12 PM
Oh sorry, you can't hear the song that was playing when you are looking at the picture.
3/3/2008 1:31:50 PM
how are we looking on recievers right now? Any hidden gems?
3/3/2008 1:36:01 PM
3/3/2008 2:19:50 PM
^^We are looking at WR's, and we really don't appear to be looking for any hidden gems, we are targeting some big-time guys. There is a WR out of NC, name escapes me, but he's suppose to be a 4-5 Star caliber player and we're going after him. Hopefully Glennon can get in the ear of some of these guys.
3/3/2008 3:43:14 PM
^^ i think he meant star-spangled banner. but anyways
3/3/2008 3:55:54 PM
Star Spangled Banner, Russian National Anthem, whatever.
3/3/2008 4:12:21 PM
Brian Slay is on the ESPN 150 watch list. So I expect him to at least be a 3* prospect. If he makes it he'll definitely be a 4*.http://tinyurl.com/27q5vxI'd also like to point out that there is a highlight video that anyone can watch over on his Rivals page. Although he projects as a DE, it looks like his high school played him mostly at DT. It looks like he can shoot the gap well and he got into the backfield a lot in the video.[Edited on March 4, 2008 at 12:05 AM. Reason : ]

http://www.wral.com/sports/story/2524709/Brian Slay found the sincerity he was looking for in Raleigh, while Jared McAdoo realized there’s no place like home. Those factors led both the junior defensive linemen to make oral commitments to N.C. State and North Carolina this week.Slay, a 6-foot-3, 255-pounder from Ashburn, Va., became the first player to join the Wolfpack’s recruiting Class of 2009 after visiting the Raleigh campus last weekend.“I think he really liked the straight honesty and the way (N.C. State defensive line) Coach (Keith) Willis approached this,’’ said Mickey Thompson, Slay’s head coach at Stone Bridge High School. “You know in the recruiting process you’ve got a lot of people telling you this and that. He just wanted to go where somebody had been straightforward with him.’’N.C. State was the first school to offer Slay a scholarship, but he was receiving serious interest from Southeastern Conference programs like Auburn, Georgia and Georgia Tech, according to Thompson.Slay was probably more well-known to the SEC recruiters prior to last season because he began his prep career at Harrison High School in Kennesaw, Ga. He was an all-district, all-region and second-team all-state selection as a sophomore at Harrison after making 88 tackles and 10 sacks. But Slay’s father changed jobs after the 2006 season and the family moved to Ashburn where he immediately became a key performer in Stone Bridge’s tradition-rich program.“We’ve really had a weakness up front on defense over the years,’’ Thompson said. “But he came in and took care of one side of the football. Nobody could run or throw to his side.“I don’t think we’ve had many guys in our program with his size and athleticism.’’Slay produced 65 tackles and six sacks for a 13-1 team that won the state AAA division 5 championship.

3/10/2008 6:55:04 PM
Maybe his mom got it wrong?
3/10/2008 7:06:30 PM
if they get xavier nixon, that will be a big pickup. They have a nice D-line, but their o-line recruiting leaves MUUUUCH to be desired.
3/10/2008 7:12:34 PM
What is going on, I thought Moss was a lock. Freakin smurfs have 10 commits.
3/10/2008 8:06:42 PM
son of a bitch! I was sure that we'd get Moss.
