12/30/2007 1:25:04 AM
I prefer not to eat in places that look like a warehouse
12/30/2007 1:26:48 AM
these are the people that own all those placeshttp://www.lmrest.com/This must be [old]
12/30/2007 2:44:11 PM
I used to eat their burger fairly often between 2001-2003. I didn't mind pulling out $3 for a real burger.BTW, there is some stupid in this thread.[Edited on December 30, 2007 at 2:49 PM. Reason : a]

12/30/2007 5:04:51 PM
That shit really and truly should be a Biscuitville
12/30/2007 5:13:32 PM

I think what he was trying to say is that a cook-out tray is $3.99, and to get a good meal at Papa Lou's you'd spend near $8.
12/30/2007 9:03:22 PM
white castle
12/30/2007 9:12:36 PM
They took wings off of the menu...damn right they should close!!!!
12/30/2007 9:25:20 PM
The daughter of the owner of Papa Lou's used to live in the dorm room beside me freshman year. She was nice. And I ate there a couple times, but I didn't want anything but the grilled chicken cesar salad - which they stopped selling.
12/30/2007 9:28:31 PM
I lived almost behind that place from 2000-2005 and only went there a couple of times when it was Miami Subs or Papa Lou's. Neither one impressed me very much.

a chicfila would be good can I get that tractor ?
12/30/2007 10:29:24 PM
i knew that place would never make it against Cook Out...I called this years ago.oh, and Miami Subs was great...I went there at 4am a whooooole bunch of times.
12/30/2007 11:27:59 PM
Miami Subs is a gang hangout in Fayetteville.
12/30/2007 11:29:14 PM
isn't his daughter cliffy b's gf (or wife or ex)? chantal joy moshakos i believe.i don't think it will be biscuitville. my nana is good friends with the guy who owned biscuitville (they went to school together) and they aren't looking to add new stores at the moment because they don't accept franchisees and they're pretty busy.[Edited on December 30, 2007 at 11:34 PM. judging by current trends on western blvd.the place that opens up there next (if it doesn't sit vacant for a while) is gonna be even more trashed than papa lou's
12/31/2007 12:05:13 AM
best burgers on Western blvd.but too overpriced and sometimes way slooooow
12/31/2007 1:11:30 AM
I'm not surprised. Just hope Bada Wings doesn't do the same. Like papa lou's, Bada is great food, just pretty expensive. I think my girlfriend and I single-handedly kept that place in business the first 6 months it was open. Hopefully The Bar will help now.
12/31/2007 1:23:19 AM
What might help Bada Wings is the relative lack of cheap wing places around here. The only other place specializing is Wing Zone, and they're not exactly inexpensive either.
12/31/2007 3:33:27 PM
I hope there is something different there.
1/3/2008 1:28:23 AM
FYI there's a miami sub on new bern that stays open late as hell. There's another one on wake forest I believe, passed the car dealerships, in front of the park

when papa lou's opened back in the day (on western blvd) their health grade was horrible, like an 82 or sum'n...caused a false grand opening if i remember right. additionally, i used to deliver linen to them while working for alsco, and the owner was a dick about how he wanted things done.
1/3/2008 9:25:39 AM
i was a big fan of Papa Lou's my first couple years at State. I thought the buffalo tenders and fries were amazing (before Bada Wings). The tenders began to get smaller and more battered with less meat so i dropped Lou's all together.Sad to see it go, but there are tons of better options that can take its place. man some bada wings sounds so good right now
1/3/2008 9:28:37 AM
left right wings ftmfw
1/3/2008 9:31:59 AM
cookout blows. I liked PLs ok, but it was fucking slow as shit.
1/3/2008 9:47:06 AM
I ate at the one on Western once--and obviously didn't go back--the food was not good at all. What about another Char-Grill?
1/3/2008 10:17:06 AM
the price would have been fine if any of the combos included a drink.instead they wanted you to tack on another 2 bucks for a damn drinkf that, B
1/3/2008 10:23:38 AM
i always called it Left Wings Right. was I alone in this?
1/3/2008 10:28:12 AM
1/9/2008 1:23:44 AM
i liked the food, but yeah, it cost way too much
1/9/2008 1:25:31 AM
^^ damn.. a Sonic would have been perfect there. it would have made $texas near a college campus
1/9/2008 2:00:22 AM
dern...with neomonde, noor deli, and baba ghannouj all pretty close to campus...you would think they'd pick something a little different. Even though they say greek food it is more middle eastern except they give you french fries as sides. like others said...they are also kind of expensive[Edited on January 9, 2008 at 2:03 AM. Reason : ^^It would definitely be hard to find waiters/waitresses that are willing to work outside @ western]
1/9/2008 2:00:52 AM
I would kill for a sonic on western!!
1/9/2008 2:04:10 AM
^^^ and ^ Hell yeah--I didn't even think about that--they would kill over there. Whenever I want Sonic, I have to drive way the hell out on Atlantic.[Edited on January 9, 2008 at 2:05 AM. Reason : .]
1/9/2008 2:04:47 AM
Haha I never saw your post Fry. We went there once and I thought you know for this much cash we could have eaten a steak or something. Who cares?
1/9/2008 2:05:13 AM
1/9/2008 2:06:50 AM
Sonic
1/9/2008 2:07:41 AM
hell, i might settle for a biscuitville. But it probly wouldn't stand a chance against bojangles, even though the western bojangles doesn't seem to have grits . Or did they start serving those now?
1/9/2008 2:10:03 AM
biscuitville>>>>>bojangles for breakfast.
1/9/2008 2:12:44 AM
