I've had several different brands of Absinthe. All brought in from Germany when i visit my bro. It really doesn't get you high but does give you a different type of 'drunk' than anything else i've had.and $60? thats insane!thats the brand i get the most of...still have some left from last year .[Edited on January 17, 2008 at 12:39 PM. Including shipping, I paid $72.37. I don't have a spoon, though. I will report back once I've tried it. I'm waiting for the weekend.

PS: I ordered an absinthe spoon today. Now I'm concerned about the slow-drip ice water so the absinthe can louche properly.

Just a hint for those waiting for spoons - there isn't much functional difference between a slotted spoon and a fork.

^ Yeah, that and a slotted spoon--of which I have several--had occurred to me. But I want the traditional paraphernalia for my first absinthe experience--I'm even thinking about buying a fountain.

drank about half the bottle in one sitting, we had no sugar to add so it was just 5oz water and the shoti didn't mind the taste but it wasn't that great...i got drunk....had fun....nothing too special....would do again if it had used real wormwood and was actually going to make me trip ballsguess i'll just stick for fleischmann's gin for a cheap way to get drunk
