You are confusing his desire to reduce the FEDERAL government, with wanting to eliminate all government. Ron Paul wants to move the power back to the states. He doesn't want less government, just more localized government policy. The more localized, the less corruption is possible and the more efficiently programs can be run.

It's funny when people like Scuba Steve chime in who have no clue what Ron Paul is about, have no concept of State's Rights (what our country was founded on), or how and why the federal bloat harms us in so many ways.

And Ron Paul as president would have a DRAMATIC effect on this country. Simply his presidential veto would stop federal spending dead in its tracks and would force a corrupt congress to do more constructive things for their constituents than spend their money.

Also as a side note, Dr. Paul is the ONLY candidate who actually understands complex economic policy, foreign trade policy and the tradeoffs between socialism and personal freedoms. Even if you don't agree with all of his platform, the fact that he fundamentally understands his positions and doesn't pander for voters are two huge plusses for me.
