Seriously, Batman has beat the shit out of Superman on at least two occasions.

Someone wasn't around for the Marvel vs. DC wars of the late 90's.
Basically, Marvel and DC did a HUGE crossover where all the superfights that we had wanted to see happened. The results of the fights were determined by reader voting so it was fair. You wanted to see your guy win, fucking vote for it. Fights included Superman/Hulk, Storm/Wonder Woman (wherein Wonder Woman picks up Thor's Hammer WTF?), Batman/Captain America. The "storyline" was that the two realities were tearing each other apart, and one side had to win. Well, in the end, they officially tied, due to the highly disputed end to the Batman/Captain America fight.
This led in to the Amalgam comics series. They did a few one shots where they basically took a bunch of creations from DC and Marvel and combined them. Dark Claw was one of those brainchilds, and, really, the only one that caught on.
