I don't know about that. It's pretty easy to cause serious damage with any sort of sword-like object. I have a fairly low-quality two-handed sword that still cuts well enough. It devastated pumpkins when we did some test cutting a while back. Within reason, weight helps. It's not a good sword, but I wouldn't want to be attacked by a person wielding it.

Of course, my little Puerto Rican machete also murdered pumpkins with absolute ease. I'd respect any sharp piece of metal.

^ Not yet, but they're working on it. About a year or so ago I made another thread like this about a movement in the UK to ban any knives larger than 8 inches. Might have even been this same "Mothers Against Knives" lady.

Knives are bound to kill more people than swords. They've been common murder weapons since before history.
