that couldn't have ended well for him.

well I called 911 and talked to the SHP, hopefully I helped them catch him

he didn't look panicked at all and was doing a good speed and not swerving at all

it was weird

today when I was driving to raleigh I was on the wade avenue extension and a car three lengths ahead of me had a blow out and swerved across two lanes, onto the shoulder, onto the grass, up the hill and into the woods

by the time I reacted and thought it through and decided to stop and help 3 other cars had already done so

I am so lucky

Update:

So, Jenny's (drunk chick) insurance accepted full liability today after finally contacting the woman who I was pushed into. I should be dickering with their estimator today and will hopefully get a check by early next week. Now, it's off to go get a better rental car (since they'll pay for a more expensive one than I initially got) and then heading to the BMW and Infiniti dealerships. I'm leaning towards a G35 right now.

Yeah, well, so's your face!

Seriously though, my original pre-accident plan was to buy a new car like the ones I'm going to go look at today in a year. I may still do that. I may just buy a $2000 beater and drive that for a year and then follow through with my original plan. Still, no harm in going to look and price things. With a little different budgeting I could probably swing it.

It's amazing how much money I've saved by not living with Jon and going to Woody's every single night.

Sadly, yes. According to their guy (and verified by outside sources) the frame is bent, both bumpers will have to be replaced, they'd have to replace the entire side bed panel on the passenger side, the rear bumper is folded so far down that it bent the exhaust pipe, oh and replace the front grill assembly. All that plus paint. The frame is the real kicker, that makes it pretty much unrepairable.

Presumably soon too! Unless they try to fuck me over, which is always a possibility with an insurance company. It's just annoying though, I had everything all planned out. Buy a new car next year, move out of NC the year after, buy a house a couple years after that. Now I don't know what I'm going to do car wise.

Was the girl that hit you hot or was she like trailer trash looking? I am picturing more trailer trash bashed on her being smashed drunk at 5:30pm and named Jenny.

Update: Received my second check from GMAC Insurance today (first one was $400 for bodily injury, which I never claimed other than some mild soreness and stiffness). I ended up getting $6259.47 for that little truck, which is about $600 over the highest end Kelley BB value and about $1500 more than I really expected to get. So, all things considered I came out of this thing with a Nissan Pathfinder as a rental car and $6659.47 in compensation for the accident. Really not too shabby. The more I think about it the more I realize that I probably should have gone to a doctor even though I wasn't injured. I probably could have netted another grand.

Sometime this week I'll go and purchase my new ride (possibly as soon as tomorrow, but more likely on Thursday) and post some pics.
