We could learn some things from this game.In 2.5 minutes, Wake has demonstrated how to push tempo and Iowa has shown how to get the ball upcourt against a press without turning it over."another turnover created by that Wake defense!" is not something I'm used to hearing[Edited on November 26, 2007 at 7:13 PM. At the first timeout (called by Iowa), Wake leads 11-4. Keep it up! Go Deacs!
11/26/2007 7:13:42 PM
Wake just turned down two or three good 3-point opportunities...just to take a bad one.
11/26/2007 7:15:33 PM
Iowa has burned four timeouts in the first 10 minutes.

Having watched a few Iowa basketball games, I've got to say it's sad that the Iowa basketball program was blessed with an arena like Carver-Hawkeye Arena yet have a terrible atmosphere. I mean that place is setup perfectly for noise. It's got 15,500 seats set up in pit style seating with a very low roof. It would be perfect for making a lot of noise. Yet their student section is small (and not very noisy), and the fans just hardly ever seem into it. The student section should consist of two parts at each baseline and go all the way to the top.Ced probably clanked it off the back of the rim making it fly 30 ft. backwards.
11/26/2007 7:50:53 PM
At the end of the first half Wake Forest is leading Iowa 33-17.
11/26/2007 7:55:02 PM
Wake looks significantly improved this year. Should win a few ACC games.
11/26/2007 7:55:39 PM
that picture of ced brought back some pretty horrible memoriesthe iowa game was one of the lowest points of my life as a state fan
11/26/2007 7:57:28 PM
This game is horrible. Iowa is on pace to score 40. Wake hadn't scored in over 8 min and was still up double digits.
11/26/2007 8:27:39 PM
Dear Wake Forest,Learn to charge the boards after shots or you'll go 4-12 in ACC play.
11/26/2007 8:28:27 PM
We got some mad by some of the analysts when they were talking about our game with Michigan Stateperhaps being the best one of the "Challenge" and them mentioning Jimmy V Week starting with our game.[Edited on November 26, 2007 at 8:30 PM. Reason : ]
11/26/2007 8:29:56 PM
that's a good looking arena.
11/26/2007 8:29:57 PM
Teams are a combined 2-26 from 3.The refs we had for Nova should be working this garbage.
11/26/2007 8:39:53 PM
that asshat announcer just said historically duke and UNC are the two toughest teams in the ACC.
11/26/2007 8:41:11 PM
this is quite the game of basketball...
11/26/2007 8:41:28 PM
^This pic is pretty good for seeing how many rows of seats there are. Looks like a ton and looks fairly steep as well. Also what's with all of the exposed tubes. At least they have been painted yellow I guess.Go to Flickr and do a search for Carver-Hawkeye to see these at full quality. The full quality ones show a lot more detail.
11/26/2007 8:47:26 PM
man, i'm envious of that arena. that's hot shit.
11/26/2007 8:49:12 PM
I think it's a decent arena for college, but I ain't ready to give up the RBC Center. It's as nice as a NBA arena, yet still has a great student section setup.
11/26/2007 8:53:49 PM
13 points, 3 minutes, Iowa looking weak
11/26/2007 8:55:09 PM
Also while it may look nice on the inside it's quite craptastic on the outside.
11/26/2007 8:57:18 PM
lol that was the weakest chant in the quietest arena
11/26/2007 8:58:30 PM
oo, it's one of those arenas...
11/26/2007 9:00:24 PM
Speaking of great designed arenas that don't have much to it on the outside, I've always been partial to New Mexico's University Arena aka The Pit, capacity 18,018. Coincidentally that's where we won the 1983 National Championship. It's hard to see, but there is a small upper deck that was added to hang over the original seats in 1975. UNM may turn it into luxury suites in the future though. It looks like a roller rink on the outside. [Edited on November 26, 2007 at 9:09 PM. Reason : ]

i love the pitit looks like a circuit city
11/26/2007 9:13:57 PM
I don't care what Oregon thinks, the real Pit is at New Mexico. It actually is a pit, unlike McArthur Court.Kind of like Death Valley at Clemson and LSU.[Edited on November 26, 2007 at 9:17 PM. Reason : ]

i hate this time of the year when I am always torn between wanting duke, unc, and maryland to win games or to fucking get their asses kicked by shitty teams. on one hand, i hate them. on the other, it is better for the conference, and for us in the long run of the season, to have those teams win early especially in their big OOC games.fuck... what to do. I think I always want UNC to lose regardless, and Duke/Maryland to win until we play them and hopefully win. Seems like a good compromise.

yeah, i have those as the 2 pushes... ^^gg!
11/26/2007 10:16:00 PM
duke's gonna be tough to beat this year, apparently they got some guy named damarcus russell.... can't decide if that's worse than when some announcer called him demetrius nichols last year
11/27/2007 12:21:56 AM
11/27/2007 12:33:22 AM
Mays will be out with a hip injury for Clemson vs. Purdue. He's avg. 15 pts. and 9 rebs. Someones gonna need to fill his shoes big time.

11/27/2007 2:32:35 AM
oh fucking christ, i picked the only game that's been played so far num-nuts.as for those 2 games (out of 11) i wasn't sure which to pick obviouslythat saidI'll pick Clemsonand Illinois happy now dickface?but seriously, you're saying i didn't make picks when i didn't choose 2 of 11 games? what are the other 9 then? fluff? imaginary? did I not make those other 9 picks already?wow, just wow.
11/27/2007 12:31:51 PM
i didn't say you didn't pick the gamesi said you didn't pick two of the games
11/27/2007 12:33:40 PM
So Miami is the ACC team who doesn't get to play in this year's challengeLast year didn't 2 ACC teams sit out and 1 Big 10 team? Or am I thinking back before BC/VT/Miami
11/27/2007 12:36:54 PM
neither miami nor vt played their first yeartwo big ten teams sat out that year too, i'm not sure which though
11/27/2007 12:38:23 PM
^^^that sounds like you said i didn't pick at least 2 of any of them, anyways, big fucking deal that i didn't pick 2.minnesota sucks, FSU isn't 'great' but they don't suck that muchhighly doubtful that wisconsin will do anything to duke eitheranyways, you're still wrong on your first pick
11/27/2007 12:48:54 PM
i think a Big Ten / ACC Football Challenge would be a lot more competitive
11/27/2007 12:49:57 PM
would be much more interesting at least
