I agree. This year should be a decent year with a bowl. Next year will be the "hype" year.
No, wait a minute.....isn't that every year? Will Andre come out this summer saying that we will only loose one game?

I am thinking that this is another rebuilding year.

TOB has credibility to last for years of near misses. I am guessing that by the 2009 - 10 season we are looking like a TOB football team and crushing most of the ACC.

TOB won 10 games each of his last 3 years at BC; he has a little bit of a leash b/c he is a proven head coach

the diff. b/t him and lowe is that lowe had no college coaching experience and was a poor (at least record wise) nba head coach; we have nothing to fall back on with lowe

not to mention tob went 5-7 with daniel evans as his qb; he should have won an award just for that (nothing against daniel but the kid is not an acc-level quarterback and i don't think anyone would disagree. heck we almost made a bowl game with daniel and our top 2 rb's being out more than in)

i have lost no confidence in TOB whatsoever and after the recruiting haul from this past year i am extremely excited about NCSU football in the next few years. basketball is a little bit of a different story.

its funny how its been years of "well, thank god basketball season is approaching"

now its like "jesus god lord end bball season, we want ncstate football"

but really its like "give. us. tailgate."

(in that succession)

Expecting 7 or 8 wins this coming year is a little much isn't it?

Talent wise the team will not be much better than this past year, just TOB will have more of his system in place hopefully to succeed better. I say 6-6 would be good. The OOC schedule includes 2 really tough games (SC and USF) to go with W & M and ECU.

"i hope you dont have too high of expectations like we all did for bball... I see this season as a success with 7 or 8 wins and a decent bowl"

the only expectations i have of this season is that TOB doesn't prove to be a really bad coach like lowe has seemingly done.

without TOB, Wilson would still be on some triple-A team somewhere

Who needs a QB 3 years removed from the Super Bowl? Not TOB

Give TOB some credit. RW, Sweezy, and Hauschka all in the Super Bowl. He helped all three develop, granted he should have kept RW and moved Sweezy to O-line

hate to beat a dead horse...but TOB clearly had talented teams and the best we have to show for it is a 9-4 (5-3) season. I'm not gonna give the guy too much credit.

Don't forget Nate's in the SB as well.

Re: hey now

RW would probably have not gotten drafted if he played his last year with us vs. Wisconsin, unless we had made it to or won the Orange Bowl. With Wisc he was able to showcase his ability to play behind an NFL-caliber OL, which was probably what made the Seahawks take him.

Wait why are you posting that quote from me? You didn't want us to start the #3 QB recruit over Beck?

RW was an unknown 2* recruit who was looked at more of a baseball player.

Remember when Russell Wilson never won a super bowl?

Also does this mean that all Dave Doeren qbs will win super bowls? Congratulations Pete Thomas!
