snowed here all day but nothing stuck (charlottesville & waynesboro)

actually i was driving to lunch and noticed that all the greens on the golf course were pure white, but the fairways were not

went skiing last weekend...they got 4" while I was there, and a total of 19" that day. Got 17" one day a week before...plus smaller accumulations on other days. Of course, they (Mt Baker) averages 647" of snow/year.

haha, that was awesome. we hitched an old surfboard up behind my jeep and hauled ass around fraternity court and varsity drive with people riding the surfboard (at like 30-35 mph, haha). when we destroyed the surfboard, we used garbage can lids, a tarp, and i can't even remember what else. that was a blast.

precipitation could actually make it colder, like if it started to snow heavy early in the morning, it could drop the temps lower than whats expected...but its really hard to predict that

right now the dew point is like 11 which is incredibly dry. so when you drop snow into that it will evaporate and lower the temperature so if the stuff gets here soon enough it could make for a nice mess!

from what my physics teacher told the class in 12th grade hs

it usually goes up a degree or 2 when it snows

something about melting points and atmospheric pressure and shit...like the energy it takes to produce all the snow warms it up a degree or 2
