As soon as girls know you can cook, they all beg like mad to have you cook for them...but dont ever really do anything about it.

I think they're all full of shit

I'm forced to cook for myself, being vegan...and I must say I've become quite good at cooking over the past year. Don't think the vegan cuisine really impresses the ladies, but my gf has become a convert and loves looking up new recipes with me.

gotta weed out the ones who just want to get fat.

it's the ones who stick around after you cook for a group of friends that are worthy.

they might even help with the dishes (in the morning...).

I made a couple of bananas brûlée in as a test run for this:

Which I will make tomorrow.

Never had a man cook for me except my dad.

First time one does, I'll probably give head for my dessert.

I can cook. Very well, actually.
I just hate cleaning dishes.

I have this orange sauce that is simply delicious

I have been dating a chef for more than a year

Its nice when he cooks for me but I like cooking for him also and I know he appreciates it

The main problem with dating a chef is the weight gainage

So the banana splitsville turned out incredibly.

Those little spirally doodads were extremely hard to get off the paper without breaking though, I probably made 15 of them and only 8 made it off the wax paper.

hardened caramelized sugar, in a spiral pattern.

Caramel sauce on the bottom, bananas with a caramalized sugar coating, and vanilla ice cream.

Very tasty and impressive looking, but also cheap as dirt to make.

I thought about this thread last night when I was grilling some Mahi Mahi and steaming some broccoli. I keep it simple.

Torched. I don't know if there is an easier way or not, but I enjoy using a blowtorch on food anyway.

I can't agree with that completely, chicks can be stupid as hell sometimes and make you wonder wtf they are thinking... but I'm not rich nor am particularly good looking and I don't have any problems swinging a date or two

some are quite shallow, but I can usually weed those out pretty quickly

maybe I'm not as bitter or jaded as I thought I was... who knows... males and females are fucked up in general

^I have to KIND OF agree with this. Cooking on its own won't score you any chicks, but if she already likes you, it does a good job of sealing the deal.

i've had mine forever.

however, parchment is smooth

whereas silpats, (and most other similar products,) are textured

and that pattern ends up visible on sugar work

A lot of french recipes are pretty well balanced. Not all of them contains copious amounts of butter and cream

I don't care so much if my guy can cook, but I melt when my guy helps me with stuff.

Even if it's like chopping vegetables, it's so cute that we can do it together.

It still amazes me how many people (male and female) can't cook.

But keep it up! Its job security for me.

More importantly, you like cooking and eating the same types of foods.

I'll admit, I wish my boyfriend liked fish, sweet potatoes, and chicken but I tolerate him because he likes 'cue and steaks.

Not all guys do, sadly.

I eat everything, but really love a few things. He seems to be allergic to or dislike about half of them. The healthy half.
