Why don't you just go to a place with a lower quote that'll do all the repairs, follow through with what your mom says, then say since you made money off of it can you have it.If she says no, what's the big issue? I'm guessing she's paying your insurance, paid for your car, and will be paying for any other major expenses you have with this as a result. With all that, you'd be lucky if she didn't keep the money since it's her insurance. That you used the terminology "con my mom" just makes me think you really don't need the money in the first place. She's prolly stubborn because she knows you do shit like this and doesn't think you'll use the money responsibly (or that you need the money).[Edited on January 19, 2008 at 3:06 AM. quick ?- will it pass inspection?
1/27/2008 5:40:19 PM
it might. just depends on how picky the inspector wants to be about the cracked lens.
1/27/2008 6:31:11 PM
haha so thats the only potential problem? it pretty much still aims right and works normally...i dont find it to be noticeable at all unless you are looking for it
1/27/2008 6:40:02 PM
yeah, as long as it's still aimed right the crack is the only potential problem i see. i expect they'll probably see it because most inspectors look pretty closely at damaged areas to cover their ass. they might just let it slide though since it's such a small crack, it's at the very bottom, and no moisture is in the housing.it's possible you could catch someone that won't notice it at a place that moves cars in/out as quickly as possibly like jiffy lube or something. i wouldn't count on it though.

fuck...how much does one of those things cost? say i want to leave all the damage but get a new lens so it will pass inspection....how much would it cost to replace? thats something i bet i could convince my parents to give me money for and let a wolfwebber fix, from the 1400 insurance money[Edited on January 27, 2008 at 6:59 PM.
