my christmas plans in my early to mid 20s depended on whether or not i was single. still usually ended up at the waffle house alone either way. now i kinda have a family again so im allowed at the family functions. like i was gonna steal the forks and sell em for crack and use the spoons for heroin.

If no one has ever gone to a chinese restaurant for Xmas day dinner then allow me to explain to you why I refer to it as "the loneliest dinner." It is a cavalcade of flannel and self loathing. You will never see a finer collection of week old beard growth and shame. Each table is occupied by a single man, usually eating quietly sealed in a cocoon of his own pain and sorrow. I think if one person were to start crying then entire place would burst into tears. Humming a Xmas song would probably result in your own murder.

I can't wait to go tomorrow!

^^Call them. A lot of places closed at 8 pm. The McD's and Wendy's near us in Garner shut down at 8 -- while my husband was in the drive thru lane. BUT the McD's a little further down the road was still open, but they were closing up at 10.
