^those trumpets at the beginning sound like total shit

just because you can go that high, does not mean that you should

but keeping this on topic, kudos to the student section for being so vocal and doing so much with cheering and the band's stuff, it should be that way every game, it's more fun that way too

Football
- be quiet on offense, be loud as hell on defense
- on defense, especially third down, yell, clap, jingle keys, stomp/jump on the aluminum seating, etc.
- if on front row and you have padding in front of you, slap the shit out of it
- if we just pinned the opposition within their own 10 yard line begin slow clap with hands above head to signal for a safety. build it up until it is bat shit crazy.
- when band starts Twilight Zone or Mortal Kombat, whatever it is, jump up and down and yell "whoo" at appropriate intervals
- when State gets a first down, raise bent arm in air and when you hear from the PA announcer "that's a/another Wolfpack..." yell "FIRST DOWN!" and do the first down chop in the way that the team is progressing. exception for people in the endzone, just do it straight in front of you
- when "Apache" happens begin to do the Apache dance. if you don't know it just look around and imitate everyone else. it's quite simple, put hands on hips, thrust hips forward and then continue counter-clockwise till you get back to the front, put right arm above head and do the bull rider dance in a circle. repeat.
- besides singing the Red & White Song, learn the damn Fight Song, and the Alma Mater and sing them too. stay afterwards for playing of the Alma Mater, join arms and sway as it plays. we should come up with some lyrics about the school to sing for Old MacDonald.
- front row sideline people that are directly behind the visiting bench, please talk as much shit as possible. if their kicker is short, rag on him on that even if you are just as tall as him.

Basketball
- front row sideline people should always kick the hockey boards while we are on defense. you should be the only students to never be jumping.
- on defense yell your head off
- on offense follow the cheers and join in, but don't be too loud
- at around the 4 minute TV timeout of the 2nd half the Fast Fight Song and Slow Clap are performed by the trumpets of the
- get in early and fuck with the players during warmups
- people seated adjacent to the visiting team's bench (sideline and endzone seating close to the band) yell your heads off and direct your sound at the team when they are in a timeout. make it hard for the coach to talk to his players and give them tips on adjusting
- people seated directly behind visiting team's fans make their life hell for the next 2 hours. yell at them when they are on their cell phone when they should be paying attention to the game.
- when Mr. Wuf and the male cheerleaders spell out STATE at half-court join in on the chant.
- if a player did something dirty, classless, etc. boo him when he has the ball
- if a player airballs, start waving your hands above your head back and forth to the beat of yelling AIRBALL continuously for a few seconds. if that player gets the ball again during the game start yelling AIRBALL again.
- pick one player, like that punk Sean Marshall, that you will start to rag on with ______ sucks! clap, clap...clap, clap, clap
- bad facial hair is fair game for ragging on (Craig Smith, Jason Cain, etc. types)
- when playing Maryland and we are up, begin yelling "SWEAT GARY, SWEAT" for Gary Williams
- follow the band on the alternating back and forth swaying during the Nnnn Cccc Staaaate N C STATE! chant
- when Tyler Hansbrough has the ball begin making the traveling signal
- when Hansbrough is at the line rag this shit out of him (Tyler Sucks, Hansdouche, etc. like chants)
- mainly be creative and not too vulgar

anything I missed?

ok look...

key jingling should be reserved for telling the other team to start up their bus. period.

and the "first down" motion should ALWAYS go the direction our team is going, even if you are in the end zone.

and most importantly, WATCH THE FUCKING GAME instead of worrying about adhering to any stupid set of 'cheering rules' or you risk missing the thing you are attempting to cheer for.

well they aren't really cheering rules, more like guidelines that should be second nature.

if i'm in the SEZ and the team is driving down towards the SEZ, I'm not turning all the way around to do the First Down motion. i'm just going to do it straight forward like everyone else around me.

Quote :
"key jingling should be reserved for telling the other team to start up their bus. period."

you should tell Virginia Tech then. they have no problem sounding like a SEC stadium despite having 20-30k fewer fans.

Incorrect, people in the endzone must *turn around* and do it in the right direction.

additional rules:

- Yell "RED" very loud when singing the national anthem at 'the rockets RED glare'
- When the opposing team is kicking/shooting for a point, students near the goal posts/net should be waving their hands or other objects as wildly as possible whilst yelling... if its our team doing this, be quiet and put two wolf hands in the air. if its an extra point in basket ball and we make it, go "WHOOOSH"
- Bad ref calls should be followed by a "BULL SHIT" chant or, if its really bad, a "REF YOU SUCK" chant
- couples should kiss during/after the singing of "won't you be my girl"
- excessive key jingling should be reserved for when the opposing team is about to lose, or an opposing player fouls out.
- When Mr. Wuf starts doing push ups, count them out.
- Learn that there are two distinct points where you are supposed to skip a clap in our official fight song.

Hmm...things must have changed. When I first got to State, everyone in the SEZ just did the First Down motion straight forward, while the sideline people did it in the direction we were going.

^i like the addition of couples kissing after hey baby.

- hold wolf hands in the air on kickoffs and yell OOOOOOOOOHHHHHH (should we start jumping now too?)
- (amendment) Bad ref calls should be followed by a "BULL SHIT" chant or, if its really bad, a "REF YOU SUCK", after third bad call chant "YOU STILL SUCK"
- (amendment) Yell "RED" very loud when singing the national anthem at 'the rockets RED glare', during second to last line begin to raise wolf hands up and on "...and the home of the" yell WOLFPACK as a replacement for brave.
- for basketball during tipoff begin jumping and yelling OOOOOOOHHHHHH

Quote :
"- When Mr. Wuf starts doing push ups, count them out."

I wish we'd go back to the cheerleaders doing flips in a line across the back of the endzone like we used to. Everyone does the pushup thing. I thought the flips were unique.

^^ oops I do it all 3 times

^^^ I can go with those amendments... but in the North end zone the majority of students I could see were chopping in the appropriate direction even if it meant turning around. To me its bad juju to first down in the opponents direction, especially considering how vulnerable we are to picks.

- and this should go without saying, but don't wear anything that really stands out from the sea of red.... I really can't stand people wearing green/yellow/purple!

YES, in the band endzone nearly every single person i can see still does it in the direction we're going. I turn around, a lot of people just 'chop' their hand backward, but you'd probably get yelled at for doing it the wrong way over here.

i sat 2 seats away from an alumn that was just down right crazy.

the fool would yell fuck this and fuck that infront of 2 year olds, kick and stop like a kid who's momma wouldn't buy him a firetruck at k-mart, and the dude outright punched the concrete wall infront of us so hard it shook so hard i felt the vibration below my feet.

i hate to see that in a fan.

to my knowlede offense doesn't really require much comminication at all in basketball. it requires communication before the play in football but during the play defense requires communication (yelling pass, screen, reverse etc)

but in basketball it seems like the most important thing is calling out screens, switches, and shots. the team on offense knows what they're doing and you don't do any communicating because it would give away the play.

something that hasnt been done in years is picking on the opposing teams qb.

clemson came in ranked like #3 in the nation one year and had an all america qb named rodney something. the student section got on him from the get go. chanting rooooddddd-----neeeeee, roooooddddd----nnnneeeeyyyyyyy over and over and over and over, it was annoying as hell. well, he drove down the field in about 6 plays, scored and started talkin sh$% to us, thinking we'd stop. well, we didnt.

by the end of the game, he was like, 5 for 20, and we upset them. he sulked on the bench in the 4th quarter and we kept letting him have it. the whole stadium got in on it. roodddddd neeeeeeeee, roooooddddd neeeeeee. it was great. the key is that you've got to do it the whole game, or, until we've got total control. do it to 1 person and stay with it.

in bball, we used to get on a starter, but, not the best guy. more like the 5th best starter. when he touched the ball, we booeeed or jeered or did something to f&^* him up and make him think about us whenever he touched the ball. then, during timeouts, we'd talk to him behind the bench about his girlfriend, dog, favorite food, how somebody screwed his girl last nite, whatever. give him the attention he didnt want and didnt expect and he would have a ton of turnovers and screw up team chemistry. they always screwed up and had a sorry game. we tried it one time with a starter and he lit us up for like, 30. so, dont do it to the best guy on the team.

^We were picking on some wide receiver that was always in front of us at one of the games earlier this season, and I think he was always there for special teams stuff, too (L unless it happened to be Wofford). They ended up moving him to the opposite side of the field and bench toward the end of the 3rd quarter.

-for basketball, right after our band plays the opposing team introductions begins. During their introductions do the "WOLF", "PACK" cheer back and forth as loud as possible, then go crazy during our introductions

-in football, when Eugene has a big run, everyone should yell "YOU!" like the soulja boy song. may sound dumb, but it was pretty cool at the UNC game when section 6/7 did it. plus its cool for individual players to occasionally have their own thing we do for them

Only thing that I had a problem with this weekend was when the damn freshmen (or just retards) were cheering and clapping during our time of possession!!!?!?!?!! GRRRRRRRR!!!

I don't understand why they think it's ok to BE LOUD when we're on offense. STFU! That's why there are ppl around you motioning for you to QUIET DOWN! Ugh.

And then when we're on defense they are silent.

ANDDDDD, we should be LOUD on EVERY DOWN when we're on DEFENSE. I'm sooo tired of how our whole stadium gets UP AND LOUD every 3rd down. Hell, the way I see it is EVERY DOWN is just as important as the 3rd. A turnover (fumble recover or pick 6) can/should happen on ANY down. That irritates me! That's the ONLY down the ALUMNI SECTION will get off their lazy asses and cheer for. WTF.

Nevertheless, GREAT GAME (prolly the best I've been to EVER). GOOD JOB PACK.
